  • Patent number: 10424143
Abstract: A delivery and collection system comprises a plurality of automated locker assemblies, each comprising a plurality of contiguous lockers which are monitored and controlled by a central computer system. Each locker has an autonomous lock unit including a processor, memory and short range wireless transceiver which communicates with any of a plurality of mobile phones or other wireless devices. Customers of the system are granted access to the lockers by validation codes which are communicated via an enabling message from the central computer system to an app running on the customer's device. The app is configured to send an access request to the lock unit based on the enabling message, and to transmit event details downloaded from the lock unit back to the central computer system. Each enabling message may authorise the user device to perform multiple deliveries or collections or may be a one-time code.

  • Patent number: 9432043
Abstract: It is known to perform sample rate conversion. A sample rate converter is arranged to receive digital data at an input sample rate Fs and to output data at an output sample rate Fo, where Fo=Fs/N, and N is decimation factor greater than 1. A problem can arise with sample rate converters when a user wishes to change the decimation rate. Generally a sample rate converter needs to discard the samples in its filter when the decimation rate is changed, and the filter output is unusable until the filter has refilled with values taken at the new decimation rate. The sample rate converter provided here does not suffer from this problem. The sample rate converter includes at least Q channels.

  • Patent number: 8924031
Abstract: Irrigation of plants or crops is effected using plant canopy temperature measurements. The process and device include an irrigation scheduling algorithm based on an integrated water stress index (WSI) and an integrated WSI set-point. A WSI is calculated at repeated time intervals and compared to an encoded threshold WSI value that is crop and region specific. If the calculated WSI is greater than the encoded WSI value, a unit of integrated WSI (IWSI) is accumulated. If the time integral exceeds the encoded value for a 24 hour period, an irrigation signal is produced, directing the irrigation system where, when and how much to irrigate. The process and device will automatically schedule crop irrigations when the crop is water stressed and may control a moving or static irrigation system to apply the irrigation. Moreover, irrigation applications can be selectively varied over specified control areas or management zones.

  • Patent number: 5067972
Abstract: A process 10 for removing acid gas components such as CO.sub.2, H.sub.2 S and/or COS from a gas stream includes feeding the gas stream into an absorption zone 54, and passing a suitable physical solvent at elevated pressure and reduced temperature counter-currently through the zone. Acid gas components are thus absorbed from the gas stream into the solvent. The absorption zone is maintained at substantially isothermal condition.
