  • Patent number: 10296865
Abstract: A system and method for shipping an item is presented that reduces the number of steps involved in the physical process and protects shipper and recipient privacy. The shipper is not required to label a package with the shipper's name or address, the recipient's name or address, or proof of payment. Instead the shipper scans a barcode on the package that encodes a package identifier, and causes a recipient identifier and payment information to be associated with the package identifier in a database. The recipient then causes his or her address to be associated with the recipient identifier.

  • Patent number: 8999652
Abstract: Mixtures of cell types can be analyzed by having at least two signal markers, with at least one at three different levels to provide a barcode for each cell type. The mixture of cells may be subjected to a common candidate moiety and the effect of the moiety on the cells determined along with identification of the cell by the barcode. Conveniently, surface marker proteins and labeled antibodies can be used to create the barcode and the cells analyzed with flow cytometry.

  • Publication number: 20030225876
Abstract: A network management software system monitors and displays performance and capacity information about networks and computers using computer graphics similar to weather maps one might see on television. High-resolution color graphics allow the display of thousands of pieces of performance on network information on one computer screen. This allows end users to view computer performance metrics such as processor utilization, disc capacity and application availability, in large network computing environments across thousand of network elements at a glance. Virtually any metric that can be determined from a network element may be displayed. Thus, performance information is collected and displayed to the end user in a color-coded graphical format that also depicts the network as opposed to the traditional tabular format. This eliminates the need for the end-user to “work” the application in an attempt to monitor performance.

  • Patent number: 6550841
Abstract: A tailgate bed extender for a vehicle truck bed. The tailgate bed extender has a tray mounted on a vehicle tailgate and a rear frame pivotally coupled to the tray. Sidearms are pivotally coupled to opposing side edges of the rear frame and are attachable to the vehicle truck bed. A hinge assembly that has a rotation axis, which is movable relative to the tray, joins the rear frame to the tray. The tailgate bed extender is rotatable from a stored position in which the rear frame abuts the tray to a loading position in which the rear frame is at an angle of approximately 270 degrees to the tray.
