  • Patent number: 7547610
Abstract: By forming isolation trenches of different types of intrinsic stress on the basis of separate process sequences, the strain characteristics of adjacent active semiconductor regions may be adjusted so as to obtain overall device performance. For example, highly stressed dielectric fill material including compressive and tensile stress may be appropriately provided in the respective isolation trenches in order to correspondingly adapt the charge carrier mobility of respective channel regions.

  • Patent number: 7547570
Abstract: Processing steps that are useful for forming interconnects in a photovoltaic module are described herein. According to one aspect, a method according to the invention includes processing steps that are similar to those performed in conventional integrated circuit fabrication. For example, the method can include etches to form a conductive step adjacent to the grooves that can be used to form interconnects between cells. According to another aspect the method for forming the conductive step can be self-aligned, such as by positioning a mirror above the module and exposing photoresist from underneath the substrate at an angle one or more times, and etching to expose the conductive step.

  • Patent number: 7546742
Abstract: A method of reducing gas turbine engine distortion includes coupling a core gas turbine engine to a power turbine, coupling the power turbine to a thrust bearing support assembly through a frusto-conically shaped structural support such that the net axial thrust of the coupled core gas turbine engine and power turbine reacts through the thrust bearing support assembly at engine centerline to facilitate minimizing distortion of the core gas turbine engine casing, and supporting the thrust bearing support assembly such that all of the remaining thrust generated by the core gas turbine engine and the power turbine is reacted to ground.

  • Patent number: 7547325
Abstract: A space keeper for insertion between two vertebrae which has a variable axial length is provided. The space keeper possesses a sleeve-like first member (2) and a second member (3) guided in the latter and movable relative to the first member in the axial direction for adjusting an overall length. In order that adjustability during operating is facilitated the two members (2, 3) are connected to one another by a lever (7, 8), wherein one centre of motion (16) of the lever is connected to one member (3) and the other centre of motion (18) is connected in terms of action to the other member (2).

  • Patent number: 7547760
Abstract: The present invention relates to the inhibition of the function of SHP2 by both anti-SHP2 peptides and the chemical compound 4-(2-sulfaminoethyl)benzoic acid, SEBA, and SEBA derivatives binding to the phosphotyrosyl phosphatase domain of SHP2 thereby inhibiting the function of SHP2 both in vitro and in vivo. In addition, the inhibition of SHP2 may be useful as a treatment for human disease, and it has been shown that interfering with SHP2 function using the anti-SHP2 peptides and SEBA compounds reverses cell transformation and induces remission of preformed tumors in vivo demonstrating a possible treatment for cancer.

  • Patent number: 7548102
Abstract: The present invention provides a latch circuit that is operable to generate a pulse from first and second clock signals to allow gates in a datapath to propagate data with minimal latency. The first clock signal is a version of the system clock and the second control signal is a time-shifted, inverted version of the system clock signal. Each of the individual latches in a datapath comprises data propagation logic. In one embodiment of the invention, the data propagation logic uses the first and second clock signals to generate an “implicit” pulse. In another embodiment of the invention, the data propagation logic uses the first and second clock signals to generate an “explicit” pulse. The implicit and explicit pulses are used to control the transmission gate of the latch to provide propagation of data through the latch with minimal latency.

  • Patent number: 7548015
Abstract: A multilayer composite includes at least two composites, each composite having a film and an electronically conductive layer. Several composites are laminated to provide an increased conversion between mechanical and electrical energies not only due to the multiplication of the effect of each layer, but also due to the fact that the multilayer structure itself renders the multilayer composite more rigid. In addition, the multilayer structure facilitates application of an electrical field over thinner portions of the structure, thereby requiring much less potential difference between electrodes.

  • Patent number: 7547855
Abstract: The invention relates to a hinge actuator comprising a first part which is configured for connection with a second part via an electric drive. The first and the second part are provided with stops cooperating in a pivoting direction for defining a select or predetermined position of the actuator parts with respect to each other. In an embodiment, in a first position of a coupling between the first part and the second part, these parts can pivot via the electric drive. In a second position, the first part and the second part are not connected via the drive but can be pivoted relative to each other manually. Further, the first and the second part may be provided with stops only cooperating in the second position of the coupling in an opposing pivoting direction, for defining the select position.

  • Patent number: 7546774
Abstract: An acceleration-compensated pressure pick-up, for example for the measurement of dynamic processes in gaseous or liquid media, comprises an external housing and a pre-assembled inner part having a flange at its assembly end. The inner part is securely fixed to the housing only at the flange. A first mass is connected via a first resilient connection to the flange, and a second mass is connected to the flange via a second resilient connection. A first measurement crystal is inserted under pre-tension between the two masses. A third mass and a compensation crystal are arranged between the first measurement crystal and the second mass, and the compensation crystal is electrically connected in opposition to the first measurement crystal. The two rigidities of the resilient connections and the three masses are matched so that the measurement values which can be determined at the crystals due to an axial acceleration acting on the housing compensate each other.

  • Patent number: 7547737
Abstract: A film-forming composition for use in preparing water-soluble films that are rapidly dissolving under cold water conditions, the composition comprising a water soluble polymer material such as polyvinyl alcohol and a principal solvent, typically diol(s) or derivative of a diol. Films made from the film-forming compositions may be used to encapsulate a variety of compositions for subsequent release into an aqueous medium. Encapsulated compositions can include various laundry detergents and additives, fabric care compositions such as fabric softening compositions and dishwashing detergents among others. When used to encapsulate compositions, the solvent system used in the film-forming composition will have at least one common solvent material as the solvent system used in the encapsulated composition to improve film dissolution and to prevent problems associated with solvent migration.
