  • Publication number: 20080201043
Abstract: A first sensor detects a boom angle of a boom with respect to a support. An attachment is coupled to the boom. A second cylinder is associated with the attachment. A second sensor detects an attachment angle of the attachment with respect to the boom. An accelerometer detects an acceleration or deceleration of the boom. A switch accepts a command to enter a ready position state from another position state. A controller controls the first hydraulic cylinder to attain a boom angle within the target boom angular range and for controlling the second cylinder to attain an attachment angle within the target attachment angular range associated with the ready position state in response to the command in conformity with at least one of a desired boom motion curve and a desired attachment motion curve.

  • Publication number: 20080197838
Abstract: A rotary encoder includes a first group of components and a second group of components. The first group of components has a pulse wire, a detector, and a circuit configuration. The second group of components has a magnet and a code element. Upon approach of the magnet to the pulse wire, a voltage pulse is able to be generated by the pulse wire. A signal is able to be generated by the detector as a function of the relative position, and based on the signal, a logic circuit is able to ascertain position information which is able to be stored in a non-volatile memory. Triggered by the voltage pulse, a voltage from a voltage source is able to be applied to the circuit configuration. The circuit configuration is disconnectable again from the voltage source at the latest after the storage of the position information in the memory.

  • Publication number: 20080196400
Abstract: A process and an apparatus for treating exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine include at least two exhaust-gas treatment modules. An exhaust gas stream can be at least partly deflected depending on a load state of the internal combustion engine in such a way that at least parts of the exhaust gas flow through one or more modules. This makes it possible to advantageously construct and operate even an exhaust gas system of large-volume internal combustion engines, in which conversion and treatment of the exhaust gas is carried out in individual modules, even in no-load operation, basically at very low exhaust gas mass flow rates. The individual modules can be adapted to various load levels of the internal combustion engine. A rail-borne vehicle and a water-borne vehicle having the apparatus are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20080200965
Abstract: An apparatus for treating an anal or urinary incontinent patient comprises a constriction device applied on the patient's large intestine or urethra, and an electrically powered operation device, which is integrated with the constriction device and adapted to operate the latter to constrict the large intestine or urethra to close the intestinal or urethral lumen and to release the large intestine or urethra to open the intestinal or urethral lumen. An electric power supply is subcutaneously implanted in the patient remote from the constriction device and an insulated electric wire connects the power supply and the electrically powered operation device. The electric wire is resilient and extends helically between the electric power supply and the electrically powered operation device. As a result, the resilient helically extending electric wire is capable of addressing the movements from the large intestine or urethra, because it may easily be temporarily extended without risking breakage.

  • Publication number: 20080196722
Abstract: The breathing assistance apparatus of the present invention includes a manifold that is provided with or retrofittable to gases supply and humidifying devices. The manifold allows gases from an oxygen concentrator to be combined with the flow through a gases supply and humidifying device, most usually air The combined output of oxygen and other breathing gases (air) is then humidified. The breathing assistance apparatus and manifold of the present invention provides a safe method to add oxygen to the input air stream of a gases supply and humidifying device and reduces the amount of accumulation of oxygen within the gases supply device, reducing fire risk should sparking occur within the device.

  • Publication number: 20080197308
Abstract: Disclosed is a solenoid valve having a magnet unit and a valve cartridge having a capsule, an armature guided longitudinally in the capsule and connected to a sealing pin guided longitudinally inside a valve insert, and a valve body with a sealing seat; a magnetic force generated by the magnet unit moves the armature together with the sealing pin from an initial position toward the valve body counter to the force of a return spring, causing the sealing pin to move into and close the sealing seat in an end position, where the initial position represents a maximum volumetric flow between a valve inlet and a valve outlet. A spring support is embodied and situated so that the return spring is supported outside the volumetric flow and presses the armature into the initial position against the capsule, and the inlet and outlet are embodied and situated so that the direction of the volumetric flow assists the closing motion of the armature with the sealing pin.

  • Publication number: 20080200076
Abstract: An electric plug connector includes a guide sleeve, a plug connector part attachable to the guide sleeve, a bayonet ring on the connector part for rotatably engaging with the guide sleeve to move between unlocked and locked positions, and a locking button arranged on the bayonet ring to slide with the ring as the ring moves. While the connector part is attached to the guide sleeve the ring locks the attachment by engaging with the guide sleeve when the ring is in its locked position. The button is displaceable relative to the guide sleeve between inactivated and activated positions. The button includes a latching hook and a pin that interact with the sleeve to enable the button to move between its inactivated and activated positions. The latching hook and the pin engage with the sleeve when the button is in its activated position to secure the locking of the attachment.
