  • Patent number: 11041999
Abstract: An optical interconnect circuit for transmitting data between two or more electronic chips. In an example embodiment, the optical interconnect circuit comprises two or more photonic chips, each of which is vertically stacked with the corresponding electronic chip such that compact optical modulators and/or photodetectors of the photonic chip are in close proximity to the data sources/sinks of the corresponding electronic chip. Multi-core optical fibers and vertical coupling structures are used to provide multiple optical connections between different photonic chips. Advantageously, the provided capability to place optical modulators close to the data sources and to place photodetectors close to the data sinks can be used to reduce the amount of required electrical wiring. Optical-waveguide connections to the multi-core fibers can be used to allow for high density of optical conduits without spatially constraining the placement of data sources and/or data sinks on the electronic chips.

  • Patent number: 11040387
Abstract: A method is disclosed for pressure forming a metal preform including shock annealing of the preform and subsequently preheating the preform prior to pressure forming. Shock annealing may be carried out as differential shock annealing in which different regions of the preform are annealed to different degrees. Preheating may be carried out by differentially preheating, optionally shock preheating, different regions of the preform for preheating at least those regions of the preform which will be subject to elevated expansion during pressure forming. Shock annealing by induction heating can lower energy consumption, reduce processing times and allow for larger expansion of the preform.

  • Patent number: 11042959
Abstract: A geospatial mapping system can access a geospatial layer data set for a first geographic area defined by a first presentation level, and provide the geospatial layer data set for the first geographic area to a client device to present a visual rendering of the first geographic area. The geospatial mapping system can receive a request to utilize an advanced feature set on a subset of geospatial artifacts located within the first geographic area, and promote, to the geospatial layer data set, an additional geospatial artifact data set for the subset of geospatial artifacts, yielding an updated geospatial layer data set for the first geographic area. The geospatial mapping system can provide the updated geospatial layer data set to the client device to provide the advanced feature set for interacting with the subset of geospatial artifacts located within the first geographic area.

  • Patent number: 11044499
Abstract: A media client ascertains a plurality of matching points between (i) query fingerprints representing a media stream being received by the client and (ii) reference fingerprints, each identified matching point defining a respective match between a query fingerprint that is timestamped with client time defined according to a clock of the client and a reference fingerprint that is timestamped with true time defined according to a timeline within a known media stream. Further, the client performs linear regression based on the timestamps of the ascertained plurality of matching points, to establish a mapping between true time and client time. The client then uses the established mapping as a basis to determine a client-time point at which the client should perform an action with respect to media stream being received by the client. And the client performs the action at the determined client-time point.
