  • Publication number: 20210169345
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a ring-shaped wearable device for detecting biometrics with a light source and a photodetector directed towards a digit wearing the ring-shaped device. The ring can thus detect oxygen saturation of a wearer based on light transmitted through the wearer's finger. The ring can include power saving measures to extend the battery life. A motion sensor can help determine opportune moments for data collection such as when the wearer is still. The motion sensor can be used to remove noise from the data caused by motion. After data is collected or during data collection, the ring can wirelessly communicate the data to another portable electronic device such as a phone or watch.

  • Publication number: 20210175683
Abstract: An optically pumped tunable VCSEL swept source module has a VCSEL and a pump, which produces light to pump the VSCEL, wherein the pump is geometrically isolated from the VCSEL. In different embodiments, the pump is geometrically isolated by defocusing light from the pump in front of the VCSEL, behind the VCSEL, and/or by coupling the light from the pump at an angle with respect to the VCSEL. In the last case, angle is usually less than 88 degrees. There are further strategies for attacking pump noise problems. Pump feedback can be reduced through (1) Faraday isolation and (2) geometric isolation. Single frequency pump lasers (Distributed feedback lasers (DFB), distributed Bragg reflector lasers (DBR), Fabry-Perot (FP) lasers, discrete mode lasers, volume Bragg grating (VBG) stabilized lasers can eliminate wavelength jitter and amplitude noise that accompanies mode hopping.

  • Publication number: 20210170233
Abstract: A system and method for automatically trimming and reclassifying workout data is disclosed. The system receives data associated with a workout of a user from at least one sensor associated with the user, the workout being classified as a first type of workout. The system processes the data to identify at least one time interval during the workout that does not correspond to the first workout type. The system prompts the user to select whether to remove or reclassify a subset of the data that is associated with the identified time interval. If the user chooses to do so, the system removes or reclassifies the subset of the data that is associated with the identified time interval. The system generates and provides workout depictions using the data, at least one of which illustrates only the remaining data that was not removed or reclassified.

  • Publication number: 20210169530
Abstract: A tulip assembly for use in a pedicle screw system is described. The tulip assembly comprises a ring and a body. A distal end of the body comprises a first and a second reduction channel located on a first and a second side, respectively. A ramp down portion is located between the reduction channel and a securement portion. The securement portions are located distally from the reduction channels. When the tulip assembly is rotated to an open position, the reduction channels receive pins located on a distal end of the ring. Upon applying an axial downward force to a rod within the assembly and rotating the assembly to a closed position, the pins are received and secured by the securement portions. Threads located on an exterior of the body engage threads on an interior of the ring and serve as a locking mechanism to secure the rod in place.

  • Publication number: 20210172773
Abstract: Vortex sensor amplitude information may be used to validate that a vortex signal being measured corresponds to an actual fluid flow and is not noise. The estimated amplitude of a sinusoidal vortex signal is used as a secondary means to determine the fluid flow based on vortex sensor characteristics. The original amplitude of the sinusoidal vortex signal is determined from a clipped voltage amplitude sinusoidal signal. The estimated velocity of the fluid in a pipe based on the original amplitude of the sinusoidal vortex signal is compared to the measured velocity of the fluid based on vortex velocity frequency. If the two determined velocities do not reasonably agree, the measured vortex signal is not a valid flow signal and adaptive filters are adjusted to reduce the effects of noise.

  • Publication number: 20210176570
Abstract: An acoustic transducer for generating electrical signals in response to acoustic signals, comprises a first diaphragm having a first corrugation formed therein. A second diaphragm has a second corrugation formed therein, and is spaced apart from the first diaphragm such that a cavity having a pressure lower than atmospheric pressure is formed therebetween. A back plate is disposed between the first diaphragm and the second diaphragm. One or more posts extend from at least one of the first diaphragm or the second diaphragm towards the other through the back plate. The one or more posts prevent each of the first diaphragm and the second diaphragm from contacting the back plate due to movement of the first diaphragm and/or the second diaphragm towards the back plate. Each of the first corrugation and the second corrugation protrude outwardly from the first diaphragm and the second diaphragm, respectively, away from the back plate.
