  • Patent number: 4606183
Abstract: A wire rope including a core surrounded with a plurality of wound strands. The rope is encapsulated with a thermoplastic after the application of a lubricant blend including amorphous polypropylene.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 20, 1984

  • Patent number: 4602476
Abstract: A wire rope is provided having a central core strand about which are wound outer strands. Non-linear spacer wires are present in the gaps between outer strands to assure the uniformity of such gaps and provide passageways from the interior to the exterior of the wire rope. A coating, usually of a suitable thermoplastic, is extruded into such rope to extend continuously from the core and between adjacent outer strands and through the passageways.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 3, 1984
Date of Patent: July 29, 1986
    Assignee: AMSTED Industries Incorporated
Inventors: Peter P. Riggs, Harry L. Data
  • Patent number: 4534162
Abstract: A wire rope is provided having a central core strand about which are wound outer strands. Spacer strands are present in the gaps between such core strand and outer strands to assume the uniformity of such gaps. A coating, usually of a suitable thermoplastic, is extruded into such rope to provide a spacer between such core and such outer strands, and between adjacent outer strands.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 8, 1983
