    Abstract: A method for providing text-to-911 services for roaming wireless devices includes receiving, from a roaming user endpoint device in a wireless communications network, a session initiation protocol message containing a text message to emergency services, retrieving, from a policy and charging rules function of the wireless communications network, an identity of the roaming user endpoint device, modifying a header of the session initiation protocol message to include the identity of the roaming user endpoint device, and forwarding the session initiation protocol message, including the header as modified, to an internet protocol short message gateway of the wireless communication network for conversion to a short message peer-to-peer message and forwarding to a text to 911 control center.

The digital multimedia source set is operatively connected to output devices (e.g., television, computer monitor, projector, audio speaker) located in locations remote from the digital multimedia source set. The digital multimedia sources and output devices are operatively connected in a visually seamless manner through the use of substantially transparent optical fiber cables.
