  • Publication number: 20060157099
Abstract: An strap for assembling a canopy includes a first strap part with a first end and a second end, a second strap part with a first end and a second end, a fastening device with a fixing member, a guide member, and a stopping member, a first attaching device fixed at the second end of the first strap part for attaching the first strap part to a beam of the canopy, and a second attaching device fixed at the second end of the second strap part for attaching the second strap part to another beam of the canopy. The first end of the first strap part is fixed with the fixing member and the first end of the second strap part winds through the fastening device, to make the second strap part to engage with the fastening device frictionally. A canopy can be assembled strongly using the adjustable straps.

  • Patent number: 7037260
Abstract: A method for determining the appropriate dosage of a medication to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in an individual who has ADHD. The method comprises sampling the peripheral skin temperature of left and right like extremities of an individual during a predetermined time interval when the individual is in a sensory deprived state to provide respective left and right sampled peripheral skin temperature data, processing the sampled peripheral skin temperature data; processing the sampled peripheral skin temperature data including filtering, differentiation, and conversion to the frequency domain to derive spectral signatures whose magnitudes are indicative of the level of ADHD manifestation. The effectiveness of the medication is calculated by comparison to predetermined threshold values.

  • Publication number: 20050198267
Abstract: Methodology, systems, and media associated with client-side auto-rediscovery for networked devices are described. One exemplary method may include discovering a connection to a service providing networked device, client-side associating the connection, validating the connection before initiating a service request to the service providing networked device, selectively rediscovering the service providing networked device, and selectively client-side reassociating the connection.

  • Publication number: 20040180813
Abstract: General methods for monitoring the activity of MurG, a GlcNAc transferase involved in bacterial cell wall biosynthesis, is disclosed. More particularly, the synthesis of simplified substrate analogs of Lipid I (the natural substrate for MurG), which function as acceptors for UDP-GlcNAc in an enzymatic reaction catalyzed by MurG, is described. Assays using the substrate analogs of the invention are further disclosed, which are useful for identifying a variety of other substrates, including inhibitors of MurG activity, for facilitating mechanistic and/or structural studies of the enzyme and for other uses. High throughput assays are also described.

  • Patent number: 6746409
Abstract: A method of determining threshold values, subsequently used to determine whether an individual has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) comprising: providing a group of subjects, a segment of which is known to have ADHD and a segment is known to not have ADHD; and testing each subject in the group by: (a) sampling the peripheral skin temperature of left and right like extremities during a predetermined time interval when the subject is in a sensory deprived state to provide respective left and right sampled peripheral skin temperature data; (b) processing the sampled peripheral skin temperature data, including filtering, differentiation, and conversion to the frequency domain to derive spectral signatures having magnitude values; and (c) final processing of spectral signatures for all of the subjects of the group to determine threshold values which are complimentarily effective for determining whether or not an individual has ADHD when tested by the testing method.
