  • Publication number: 20090278672
Abstract: A driver assistance system for motor vehicles, having a localization system for localizing objects in the surroundings of the vehicle and having a device for recognizing stationary objects by comparing the difference between the relative motion of the object and the inherent motion of the vehicle with a threshold value, wherein the device is embodied to vary the threshold value as a function of variables that influence the accuracy with which the relative and inherent motions are determined.

    Publication date: November 12, 2009
Inventors: Michael Weilkes, Juergen Boecker, Peter Petschnigg
  • Patent number: 7519758
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for transmitting measurement data between an object-detection device and an evaluation device are provided, the evaluation device sending to the object-detection device one or more data packets with the object identifiers relevant for the evaluation device, the object-detection device inserting the current measurement data of the detected objects into a fixed, predetermined number of data packets, the objects, which the evaluation device with the aid of the object identifiers marked as relevant, being entered preferentially, and the apparatus outputting the data packet to a data bus via the connector element to the data bus.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 14, 2009
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Robert Erhart, Werner Urban, Albrecht Irion, Dirk John, Peter Petschnigg, Daniel Pindado
  • Publication number: 20070158125
Abstract: A driver assistance system for motor vehicles, having at least one assistance function that is to be used only under particular preconditions, characterized by an acquisition device for acquiring data concerning the locality in which the vehicle is traveling, and by a blocking device for blocking the assistance function if the acquired data indicate that the preconditions for the use of the assistance function are not met.

    Publication date: July 12, 2007
Inventors: Goetz Braeuchle, Carsten Schroeder, Peter Petschnigg
  • Publication number: 20070093951
Abstract: A method and a device for emitting a warning for a first motor vehicle equipped with an adaptive cruise control are provided, which device includes a unit for detecting if the first vehicle is standing still, as well as a unit for determining the distance and relative speed of a second vehicle, thereby making it possible to detect if a second vehicle located immediately ahead of the first vehicle is rolling backwards while the first vehicle is standing still. If the distance between the first and the second vehicle drops below a minimum distance, a warning is emitted to warn of the impending collision.
