  • Publication number: 20240429617
Abstract: In some examples, a method for generating a set of slot activation configurations for a holographic radial line slot antenna array comprising multiple slots defining a preconfigured slot pattern, each slot activation configuration defining a beam pattern for a signal to be emitted by the antenna, comprises generating a measure for the mutual coupling between the multiple slots in the presence of a signal to be applied to the antenna, the measure comprising a set of scattering parameters defining a scattering matrix for the antenna, using the measure for the mutual coupling, generating a set of impedance parameters for the array, controlling the resonance of at least one of the multiple slots by regulating a value of capacitance of a variable capacitance device provided across the slot, measuring a value for antenna gain of a beam pattern associated with the value of capacitance, selecting a final value of capacitance resulting in the highest measure of gain for the beam pattern, and selecting a slot activatio

  • Patent number: 9203132
Abstract: A differential transmission transition interface is disclosed which can include first and a second buried conducting tracks providing respectively first and second differential couplings between a differential RF transmission output and a waveguide; the first buried conducting track extending over an opening of the waveguide to provide a first RF coupling element; and the second buried conducting track extending over the opening to provide a second RF coupling element. At least a portion of the first RF coupling element extends over the waveguide opening in a first angular direction; and at least a portion of the second RF coupling element extends over the waveguide opening in a second angular direction that is opposed to the first angular direction.

  • Patent number: 9054427
Abstract: A planar Vivaldi antenna array, and method of forming such an array, the array comprising: a plurality of slots at an end of the antenna array, the slots extending through the whole thickness of the planar structure of the antenna array; and a plurality of grooves extending from the slots; wherein: the grooves do not extend through the whole thickness of the planar structure of the antenna array; and the cross-sectional shape of the grooves is complementary to the cross-sectional shape of the slots.

  • Patent number: 8466848
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for applying a fixed non-linear profile of power (amplitude) and delay to signals across the aperture of an array antenna having multiple antenna elements where multiple beams are formed to span the field of view of the antenna. Using such fixed profiles in combination enables a substantially constant beam width to be maintained across a wide range of operational frequencies, e.g. 6-18 GHz, ensuring that the points of overlap for adjacent beams does not drop below a certain level, e.g. ?3dB, and hence maintaining a substantially uniform coverage across the field of view of the antenna at all frequencies in the range.

  • Publication number: 20060271915
Abstract: A rendering method, system and software for enforcing usage rights associated with digital content, including exchanging information with a first repository for storing the digital content and the associated usage rights and for processing a usage transaction specifying the usage rights to determine if access to the digital content can be granted; and exchanging information with a second repository for generating the usage transaction. The grammar includes one or more symbols to indicate the manner of use, which can be used to specify how an authorized party is able to render the digital content, use the digital content to create a new digital content, make a back-up copy of the digital content, conceal the digital content on a device on which the digital content is stored, and delete the digital content from a device on which the digital content is stored.
