  • Publication number: 20190295798
Abstract: A fuse component (1) has a fuse element (2). The fuse element (2) is located inside an isolating body (3) and the fuse element (2) extends between the two end faces of the isolating body (3). Each of the end faces of the isolating body (3) are closed by electrical conductive end caps (4) and the end caps (4) are in electrical contact with the fuse element (2). The isolating body (3) includes at least two shells (5a, 5b); at least in the region of the end caps (4), and the shells (5a, 5b) in the assembled state form a channel (6) to receive the fuse element (2).

  • Patent number: 7138899
Abstract: A fuse element includes a fusible conductor which extends within a gas filled cavity in a cylindrical tube. The fuse element includes a cylindrical tube comprising, an electrical insulator between two end faces of the tube, two end caps of an electrically conductive material being applied to the two ends of the tube such that an electrical contact is produced with the fusible conductor. At least one respective sealing element is inserted in at least one of the two ends in a space between the cap base and the end face of the tube and/or into a portion of the cavity of the tube adjacent to the end face such that one or more pressure balancing passages remain between the gas filled cavity within the tube and the external surroundings of the fuse element. The one or more pressure balancing passages are of such small cross-section that changes in pressure in the cavity are balanced only very slowly.

  • Patent number: 6650223
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrical fuse element having an essentially ceramic housing which, in the unfired state, is closed around at least one fusible conductor. To improve the properties of such a fuse element with respect to the extremely high internal pressures occurring during switching off as well as when exposed to an arc, a fuse element (5) in which the fusible conductor (1) has an electrically conducting component, in particular a metallic wire (2), and an insulating, porous component is proposed.
