  • Patent number: 7938813
Abstract: An absorbent article includes a stretchable substrate layer and an absorbent core formed directly on the substrate layer, and adhesively attached to the substrate layer. The absorbent core includes about 40-99% by weight superabsorbent particles and about 1-60% by weight adhesive fibers. The absorbent core does not prevent the substrate layer or absorbent article from stretching. The absorbent article can be a personal care absorbent article or a medical absorbent article, and is suitably stretchable or elastic in at least one direction.

  • Publication number: 20030118825
Abstract: Absorbent composites are described as containing a particle of superabsorbent material covered with an energy receptive additive. The absorbent composites are suitable for exposure to dielectric heating, in general, and microwave heating, in particular.

  • Publication number: 20030119402
Abstract: Absorbent articles having stabilized absorbent structures are discussed. The absorbent structures include binder fibers and absorbent composites. The absorbent composites include a particle of superabsorbent material and an energy receptive additive. The absorbent structures having the absorbent composites are particularly suitable for exposure to dielectric heating, in general, and microwave heating, in particular.

  • Patent number: 5711867
Abstract: A method of separating a material from a liquid sample comprising:providing a system for material separation having a stationary phase having a metalloporphyrin coordination compound or a metallophthalocyanine coordination compound or a mixture thereof;oxidizing or reducing the coordination compound, respectively, to an oxidized or reduced state at which the material will bind to the compound;applying a source of electric potential to the system; andcontacting the oxidized or reduced coordination compound with a liquid sample containing the material under conditions effective to separate the material from the liquid.
