  • Patent number: 4931725
Abstract: Apparatus whose measurement means consists solely of electronic components, measures the power taken by an electrical load connected to an alternating source of electricity supply in such a manner that the power sensed or energy accumulated is in agreement with the same measurements as performed by a conventional rotating disc electromechanical meter. Fundamental frequency filtering means when applied to either one or both supply voltage and load current ensure that the electronic circuitry performs the appropriate measurements in determining power consumption. A single sample per mains cycle applied to load current and supply voltage is sufficient to measure power consumption, energy consumption accumulation, and produce accumulated energy pulses appropriate to measurement of real power, true power and volt-ampere power consumed by the load.

  • Patent number: 4408226
Abstract: Test apparatus for monitoring transmissions contained in a broad band television video signal is disclosed including a sampling device operating at an integer multiple of the digital bit rate which is above the Nyguist level and a temporary storage device for storing the sample produced by the sampling device. A microprocessor is used to compute from the stored samples a value of a parameter of the digital transmission and to control the sampling device whereby the sample can be taken at appropriate points for the parameter to be tested. To that end, conversion means are provided for converting the stored samples so as to recreate the input digital transmission for resampling at the points determined by the microprocessor.

  • Patent number: 4394687
Abstract: Digital information signals representing information to be displayed on a television receiver are received separate from the wide band video signals and stored for display in a predetermined number of rows and columns. The digital information signals are displayed in predetermined number of rows and columns of characters with the information signals being transmitted in lines, each of which contain data relating to a number of characters less than the predetermined number of columns in the display. The control code is also transmitted in the digital information signals and extracted to control the storage addressing of the digital information signals in a storage device by appropriate row and column addresses.

  • Patent number: 4204228
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for producing a test signal having a predetermined amount of distortion, including a first pulse generator (11) for producing a plurality of first pulses, a distortion pulse generator (18, 21) for producing a plurality of distortion pulses, and an adder circuit for adding the first and distortion pulses to produce a composite signal having a main portion of amplitude and shape identical to the first pulse and to which is added at least one of the distortion pulses.
