The foregoing adsorbent unit assembly is mounted within the housing of a receiver dryer by compressing one or more adsorbent units on the elongated member between the grid and the enlarged portion so as to cause the outer sides of the adsorbent units to bear against the inside surface of the housing while the grid also provides an interference fit with the housing.
