  • Patent number: 8011036
Abstract: A changing table is mounted on the frame of a play yard to be vertically adjustable in operative height and pivotally movable between operative and inoperative positions. The frame of the changing table is provided with a downwardly extending guard member that extends across the opening between the frame of the changing table and the frame of the play yard to prevent a child's head from being trapped in the opening. The use of the guard member enables the changing table to be moved through a greater vertical range of operative positions without violating ASTM standards regarding the passage of probes through frame openings. The height adjustment mechanism is mounted within the vertical frame member of the play yard and the vertical mounting member of the changing table to allow the changing table to be raised and lowered with respect to the upper frame members of the play yard.

  • Publication number: 20110207541
Abstract: An infant swing apparatus comprises a first pivot shaft coupled with a swing arm, a motorized drive unit configured to drive rotation of the first pivot shaft in alternate directions, and a swing motion sensing unit including an encoder wheel securely mounted with a second pivot shaft. The second pivot shaft is directly coupled with the first pivot shaft in angular displacement via frictional interaction. As a result, the rotation of the first pivot shaft and corresponding swing motion can monitored in a precise manner.

  • Patent number: 7971933
Abstract: An infant swing has a base member supported by hanger members for reciprocal movement. The base member is formed with an upwardly extending mounting protrusion that nests into a mating receiver structure formed on the bottom of the seat carrier. A latch mechanism carried by the seat carrier is selectively operable to disengage a pivoted, spring-loaded latch member mounted on the base member mounting protrusion. The seat carrier is formed with a pivoted lift handle that provides a dual lift function, including the normal lift function associated with the lift handle being raised into the upright operative position. The lift handle is formed with grip openings adjacent the pivot connection of the lift handle such that the grip handles are rotated for access when the lift handle is lowered to the folded position to enable the seat carrier to be lifted by grasping the two transversely spaced grip openings.

  • Publication number: 20110105237
Abstract: A swing apparatus comprises a support frame, a plurality of swing arms pivotally connected with the support frame, a mount platform connected with the swing arms, wherein the swing arms are operable to swing the mount platform relative to the support frame, and a portable infant holding device adapted to removably fasten with the mount platform. Once it is installed on the mount platform, the infant holding device can be positioned above the support frame and swing arms, in particular above the pivot links that connect the swing arms with the support frame. As a result, the swing apparatus can be used in a more versatile manner, and access to the infant holding device can be facilitated for placement and removal of the infant.

  • Publication number: 20110057404
Abstract: A stroller includes a chassis, a main body disposed on the chassis, and a first vibration-absorbing mechanism including a first rod structure, a first sleeve structure, a first inner elastic part, and a first outer elastic part. The first rod structure is connected to a side of the chassis. The first sleeve structure is connected to the main body and movably sleeves the first rod structure. The first inner elastic part abuts against the first rod structure and the first sleeve structure. When the first vibration-absorbing mechanism is in a first use state, the first outer elastic part is in contact with one of the first sleeve structure and the first rod structure. When the first rod structure slides toward the first sleeve structure over a specific distance, two ends of the first outer elastic part abut against the first sleeve structure and the first rod structure, respectively.

  • Patent number: 7819485
Abstract: An attachment system is formed into the seating structure of a juvenile product to allow the installation and removal of a harness belt having an occluding structure, such as a buckle or an orthogonal flap sewn at the end of the belt, without requiring access to the back side of the seating structure to manipulate the end portion of the belt. The attachment system includes a retainer slot having a height sufficient to permit the passage of the webbing material, and an access opening having a height that allows the passage of the occluding structure without forcing the occluding structure against the webbing material. The access opening is connected to the retainer slot by a narrow passageway that is located intermediate the ends of the retainer slot, but adjacent one end, to enable the manipulation an edge of the webbing material from the retainer slot into the narrow passageway.

  • Patent number: 7673942
Abstract: A high chair incorporates a swivel feature and a height adjustment feature that permits the seat member to be positioned to the convenience of the caregiver. The high chair includes an H-shaped base member having a vertical pedestal member that houses a gas cylinder that provides height adjustment for the seat member and that supports the seat member for rotational movement relative to the pedestal. The H-shaped base allows the high chair to be positioned close to the caregiver. A swivel lock includes an actuation lever that has handles positioned on opposing sides of the seat member for actuation from either side of the high chair. The pivoted actuation lever also includes a spring-loaded stop member that is engagable with a toothed gear plate affixed to the pedestal to secure the rotated position of the seat member by positioning the stop member between teeth on the gear plate.

  • Publication number: 20090113625
Abstract: A bassinet for mounting on a play yard frame is supported to provide a swinging movement of the bassinet relative to the play yard. The bassinet is suspended from four detachable connector mounts that slide over the upper frame member of the play yard frame by three flexible support members and a single rigid support member that is operatively connected to a motor housed within a motorized connector mount to drive the swinging motion for the bassinet. The movement induced into the bassinet is controlled by the four support members to keep the bottom surface of the bassinet at a horizontal orientation throughout the swinging movement. The bottom board of the play yard is formed in segments which can be reconfigured to fit in the bassinet. The end segment can be folded below the remaining segments, or in the alternative removed, to affect the reconfiguration for the bassinet structure.

  • Publication number: 20080020854
Abstract: An infant swing has a base member supported by hanger members for reciprocal movement. A seat that can be utilized in other applications is detachably mounted on and latched to the base member, which is formed with a swivel mechanism that allows the seat to be selectively positioned in a back-and-forth swing configuration or a sideways swing configuration. The swivel mechanism utilizes a triangular guide that engages an elliptical retainer to cause a lateral shift in the center of gravity of the seat when re-positioned. The base member also incorporates a recline mechanism that can be actuated with one hand. The recline actuation mechanism uses a self-centering push bar that is formed with protrusions engaged with slotted channels to lock the seat in a selected recline position. The push bar is operable to either transverse direction to release the protrusions from the slotted channels for selecting the new recline position.

  • Patent number: 7258619
Abstract: An attachment apparatus provides a quick connection of the hanger tubes for a child's swing seat assembly to the pivot member of a drive mechanism powering the reciproal movement of the seat assembly. The shape of the mating attachment members, including a rounded upper portion and linear side portions, provides an intuitive and effective mounting apparatus for a swing seat assembly that can be accomplished simply by sliding the hanger tubes over or into the mating receptacles. A quick disconnect device engages automatically and provides a secure connection between the hanger tube and the receptacle. Removal of the seat assembly requires only a release of the quick disconnect device and a lifting of the seat assembly from the frame apparatus. In one embodiment the linear side portions are angled into a wedge-shape to ensure proper seating and driving connection to transmit torque to the hanger tubes.

  • Patent number: 5533936
Abstract: An infant swing assembly has a stabilizer for immobilizing the seat during placement of a child therein and removal therefrom. The stabilizer has at least one connector, preferably a pair of collinearly spaced ring connectors, for pivotally attaching to the hanger of the swing assembly. The stabilizer has an engaging portion, preferably a hook which can be engaged with the leg of the swing assembly to immobilize the seat. The stabilizer can be pivoted downward and positioned adjacent the side of the seat where the stabilizer cannot engage with the leg thus permitting the seat to freely swing and laterally outwardly where the stabilizer is able to engage with the leg.
