  • Patent number: 4466781
Abstract: An arrangement for feeding a fuel particularly from a supply container to an internal combustion engine of a power vehicle, has a feeding pump with a feeding member rotatable about an axis, and a cylindrical pump chamber for the feeding member and having two chamber walls formed as separate members extending transverse to the axis and a tubular housing part retaining the chamber walls in a desired position wherein a further chamber wall surrounding the axis is formed by the tubular housing part.

  • Patent number: 4462761
Abstract: A pump which is especially suited for pumping fuel from a storage tank to an internal combustion engine includes a rotatable impeller wheel having an annulus of impeller vanes defining respective compartments therebetween which open onto one axial surface of the impeller wheel which extends substantially normal to the axis of the rotation of the impeller wheel, and an end wall having an end surface which is juxtaposed with the axial surface of the impeller wheel and defines an interface therewith. The end wall is provided with a pumping channel which extends along a part-annular course along the trajectory of orbiting movement of the impeller vanes and opens onto the interface. The pressure of the fluid being pumped by the impeller vanes increases in the downstream direction of the pumping channel and exerts a tilting moment about an axis normal to the rotation axis on the impeller wheel.

  • Patent number: 4373872
Abstract: A noise damping device is proposed for reducing and smoothing pressure fluctuations in a damping medium, especially in fuel supplied by fuel supply pumps, which serves to reduce pressure fluctuations downstream of the fuel supply pump. The noise damping device includes a diaphragm fluctuation damper which is disposed directly downstream of the pump compression collar and by means of which, by rotating the diaphragm fluctuation damper, an annular fitting is fixable in its axial position between the diaphragm fluctuation damper and the pump compression collar. A check valve in the connection extension of the diaphragm fluctuation damper or in the annular fitting prevents the return flow of fuel out of the fuel circulatory system after the termination of fuel supply.

  • Patent number: 4256579
Abstract: A filter for liquids has a housing, a filtering element accommodated in the housing and having a central tube, and a vibration damper located in the housing and having a membrane, a spring biasing the membrane and a casing arranged to accommodate the membrane and the spring and including a cup-shaped portion which extends into the central tube and receives the spring therein.

  • Patent number: 4231719
Abstract: A procedure and an apparatus are proposed for effectively degassing fuel supply pumps, where the fuel used contains components which vaporize easily at elevated fuel temperatures, and particularly for leading off gas bubbles as they are formed whenever these occur or form in the immediate area of the pump intake. The entire pump and especially the intake area of the pump, which is preferably a roller piston pump, are embodied in open design, with the fuel supply pump arranged perpendicularly and the pumping area located at the bottom, so that gas bubbles forming in the fuel can be carried off before they are introduced into the pump. The pump comprises a base plate with a telescoping rigid tubular member and an intermediate plate screwed onto the base plate, the intermediate plate having an eccentric boring, which encloses the groove disc of the thus-embodied roller piston pump.
