Publication number: 20230306140Abstract: A platform implements a remote online notarization service. The remote online notarization (RON) service allows notarization of digital documents which have been electronically signed. The RON process can be initiated by a facilitator and involves participants including one or more signers and a notary. The RON service provided by the present system confirms technical features of each participants device used to participate in the RON process. Once a participant's device is verified and the participant is verified, the participant is provided with access to a notarization session in which the notarization takes place. The service provides a manageable, reliable platform for implementing a RON process based on features including digitally witnessing of document e-signing, use of custom notary stamps, and creation of unique notary journal entries.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2023Publication date: September 28, 2023Inventors: Alexander Hardy, Allan Keller, Peter Rung

Publication number: 20230188675Abstract: A computer-implemented online conferencing transactional platform system comprising an interaction module, a video-conferencing module, and a storage device may allow multiple participants in a video-conference to access, co-browse, collaboratively edit, and sign a transactional document. An interaction module fetches an image of a transactional document and a field identifier for an interactive transactional document element to be filled out from a remotely-connected secure signature API, and displays the image of the document, along with the interactive transactional document element on a webpage interface to a moderator and a signer end user in a video-conference. The interaction module receives a filled-out transactional document in an I-frame from the secure signature API, allowing the signer end user to sign the transactional document using a secure embedded signature process.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 15, 2022Publication date: June 15, 2023Inventors: Peter Rung, Andrew Ambrose, Thomas Brown

Publication number: 20220286293Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed where a server determines parameters for establishing a remote online notarization session, the remote online notarization session including participants, the participants including at least a signer and a notary. The server establishes the session according to the parameters, and monitors, during the session, information from the signer client device and the notary client device. The server detects a failure from the information based on at least one of the signer client device and the notary client device having failed to comply with a parameter of the parameters. Responsive to detecting the failure, the server pauses the remote online notarization session and outputting a selectable cure option to at least one of the participants that, when selected initiates a workflow that, when concluded, cures the failure and enables the remote online notarization session to proceed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2021Publication date: September 8, 2022Inventors: Alexander Hardy, Allan Keller, Peter Rung

Publication number: 20220284526Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed where a server receives a request to establish a remote online notarization session. The server identifies participants including at least a signer and a notary and identifies identifying an envelope to be notarized during the remote online notarization session. The server determines, based on contents of the envelope, parameters of the remote online notarization session, and selects a protocol to which the remote online notarization session will conform. The system establishes the remote online notarization session using the protocol, and determines, while monitoring the session, whether the protocol was breached by at least one of the signer and the notary. If the protocol was breached, the server re-starts the remote online notarization session, otherwise the server the remote online notarization session, and outputs a notarized version of the envelope.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2021Publication date: September 8, 2022Inventors: Alexander Hardy, Allan Keller, Peter Rung
