  • Publication number: 20160253925
Abstract: A series of panels and a method for assembling the panels into a spherical globe structure is provided. The panels may be of different shapes, for instance curved three-sided panels, curved five-sided panels, and curved six-sided panels. The panels may be connected to one another, or the panels may be connected to a core sphere or frame that provides added support. Once connected. the panels form a continuous spherical or globe structure. The panels may additionally include an image on an outer surface such that a continuous image is created on the structure. For instance, the structure may have an image of a map, a planet, or other spherical object. By creating a globe structure using a plurality of curved panels, the cost of production and shipment of large globes can be greatly reduced.

  • Patent number: 8739421
Abstract: A tool and method for applying a texture material to a surface is provided. The tool comprises a body having a flat surface for mating to a smooth surface, such as a repaired portion of drywall. The body is formed of a rigid plastic material, that is optionally transparent, to enable to tool to be reused indefinitely, and has a multiplicity of spatially positioned openings disposed therethrough. Each of the openings has a predetermined configuration and position on the tool, for providing a pattern substantially matching the appearance of existing textured surface adjacent to the smooth surface. The invented method includes first affixing the tool to the smooth area of the surface, then applying a texture material to the smooth surface through the openings in the tool for forming a newly textured area that substantially matches the appearance of the existing adjacent textured surface.

  • Patent number: 6625943
Abstract: An assembly and method for constructing a building having an interior with a loft style or appearance. The assembly and method of present invention discloses a form assembly that is used to form successive levels on the interior of a building that have a loft style or appearance. The form assembly is constructed of a number of pieces of rigid material which may have a roughened or weathered exterior surface that is exposed when the assembly is constructed. The form assembly is then filled with a cast-in-place concrete which sets and provides support for the interior of the building while also creating an interior which has the loft style appearance.
