Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a rotor that that has a seal surface, a shaft that has an annular seal channel that opens to the seal surface, and a seal disposed in the annular seal channel for sealing against the seal surface. The seal is made of a composite having carbon fibers disposed in a carbon matrix.

Abstract: A heater attachment for an evaporative cooler having an axial airflow fan (10), in which the airflow is divided by an element mount (18) into an inner airflow in alignment with the hub area of the fan, and an outer airflow surrounding the inner airflow. The element mount (18) has an annular bearing wall with bearing surface, and finger sets (19) rotate on the bearing surface to function as shutters to obstruct the outer airflow when element (32) is energized, and by reducing total airflow, the heated inner airflow is at a higher, more comfortable temperature.

Abstract: A valve gate manifold for an injecting machine has at least three plates in tandem with one another, the first plate being circular and having in its several die positioning rings each with an injecting nozzle, the second plate being a manifold plate having a master valve and internal passages leading to the injecting nozzles, and the third plate carrying piston/cylinder assemblies which control the injecting nozzles. The face of the first plate can lie copolanar with the platen face of the injecting machine, and the manifold can be contained in an aperture through the platen.

Abstract: Adjustment means for a valve float assembly comprising a float arm and a float, the float having a circular side wall with a flange outstanding from it and extending around it helically, the float arm end having flange engaging surfaces slidable over the flange so that rotation of the float raises or lowers it to provide the level adjustment means, and thereby water level height adjustment means.
