Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory media are provided for low latency handovers. An example method can include receiving, by a satellite, a schedule of communications between the satellite and one or more gateways; requesting, based on the schedule, a handover from a link between the satellite and a gateway to a different link between the satellite and the gateway or a different gateway; prior to a completion of the handover, processing packets bicasted over the link between the satellite and the gateway and the different link between the satellite and the gateway or the different gateway; performing the handover from the link between the satellite and the gateway to the different link between the satellite and the gateway or the different gateway; and after the handover, transmitting, by the satellite, one or more packets via the different link between the satellite and the gateway or the different gateway.

Abstract: A communication system for current-modulated transmission of data via a current loop—into which a master device and at least one slave device are looped. The at least one slave device has a switching means that is actuable by an evaluation and control unit and that is configured to short a current loop in the closed state, wherein the evaluation and control unit is configured to temporarily close and then reopen the switching means during a system configuration detection phase. An evaluation and control unit of the master device—is configured to detect when the at least one slave device is looped into the current loop.

Abstract: A method and a tool set for joining superposed metal sheets are disclosed. In a first step, a preferably ring-shaped free space is provided by dislocating material of at least one sheet. Thereafter, material of all sheets is squeezed within the confines of the free space whereby material flows laterally into the free space producing an interengaging form lock.
