Abstract: A spray-dried amorphous alkali metal silicate compound which provides multiple-cycle washing performance. The silicate compound has a molar ratio of M2O to SiO2 of 1:1.5 to 1:3.3 wherein M represents an alkali metal. The compound contains 0.5 to less than 30% by weight of anionic surfactant and has an absorption capacity for liquid components which is at least 20% higher than that of the same quantity of the alkali metal silicate compound which is free from anionic surfactant.

The choice of this particular particle size range eliminates otherwise typical production-related problems arising out of the permeability of the bag seams and resulting difficulties.

Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid mixture of propylene oxide-ethylene oxide derivatives of alcohols corresponding to the following formulaR--O--C.sub.3 H.sub.5 O.sub.1-2 --(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.6-8 --Hin which R is a linear alkyl or alkenyl radical which may be methyl-branched in the 2-position, and which has the following chain distribution: C.sub.8 =0 to 5%, C.sub.9-10 =75 to 90%, C.sub.11-12 =5 to 15%, C.sub.13-14 =4 to 10%, C.sub.15-16 =0 to 3%. By virtue of its physical and washing-active properties, the mixing is suitable as a readily biodegradable substitute for alkylphenol ethoxylates.

Abstract: The foaming and detergent power of manual dishwashing detergents gentle to the skin and containing anionic surfactants of the sulfonate or sulfate surfactant type, fatty acid alkanolamides and fatty alkylgucosides are enhanced by using fatty alkyl C.sub.12 -C.sub.14 monoglucosides containing less than 2 glucose units per fatty alkyl group in quantities of from 3 to 20% by weight alkyl sulfate or alkylether sulfate, and from 1 to 15% by weight fatty acid alkanolamide.
