  • Publication number: 20240027599
Abstract: Motion detection apparatuses are disclosed. The motion detection may be performed using one or more of a sub-window of a predetermined time window, a predetermined threshold value that is settable responsive to changes in one or more environmental factors, or a detection trigger. An apparatus includes a processor and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) circuitry to sample a reflected predetermined pattern signal to generate reflected predetermined pattern samples. The processor captures collections of the reflected predetermined pattern samples corresponding to a predetermined time window and determines a sum of the collections or sub-collections. The processor determines an average of magnitudes of the determined sum and determines that a moving object is detected responsive to a predetermined threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20220163655
Abstract: Motion detection using channel impulse response signals and related systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed. An apparatus includes an analog input terminal of a receiver processing circuitry, an analog to digital converter (ADC) circuitry, and a processor. The analog input terminal receives a reflected predetermined pattern signal provided by a receiver antenna. The ADC circuitry samples the reflected predetermined pattern signal received by the analog input terminal to generate reflected predetermined pattern samples. The processor determines an average of magnitudes of a sum of collections of the reflected predetermined pattern samples and determines whether a moving object is sensed responsive to the determined average and a predetermined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 8091745
Abstract: The invention relates to a disposable tap (1) for tapping liquid from a pressurized liquid container. Compared to prior art taps, the inventive disposable tap is modified so that it can be preferably placed in the upper area of the lateral wall of the liquid container. To this end, the tap comprises a lateral inlet opening (21) which is oriented downward when the tap is mounted and which is provided for coupling, in a sealing manner, to an ascending tube (34), and comprises elements (6, 7, 8), which control the entrance of liquid into the tap and to the outlet (of the tap hole) in an appropriate manner. The invention also relates to a liquid container with a corresponding opening (36) for and with this tap.

  • Publication number: 20090191327
Abstract: A strip coating system includes a first pulley carrying a flexible metal or Al substrate wound up on the first pulley. A second, take-up, pulley is provided for taking up the coated substrate. The coating process is a continuous coating process, during which the first pulley and the second pulley are rotated to move the substrate continuously past a coating tool for depositing coating particles on a surface of the substrate. After having passed the coating section with a speed v, the substrate carrying a coating layer on the surface thereof passes an infrared spectroscopic measurement device for measuring the layer thickness of the coating layer. Feedback controls are provided to control one or more process parameters of the coating tool responsive to the measurement of the thickness of the coating layer detected by the measurement tool. Thus, an in situ online measurement of the thickness of the coating layer may be implemented.

  • Patent number: 7450233
Abstract: A measuring device includes several sequentially disposed coating chambers for measuring optical properties of coated substrates. These coating chambers are separated from one another by partitioning walls, whose free ends are located closely above the substrate. The substrate is preferably a continuous film. By measuring the reflection, the transmission, etc. of the substrate between the individual coating chambers, it becomes possible to carry out measurements within only partially completed layer systems. This yields advantages for the technical operation control of the coating process.

  • Publication number: 20080248215
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and to a web deposition machine for coating a plastic substrate with at least one metal layer, in particular plastic foil for flexible, printed circuit boards, wherein before depositing a first layer onto a surface of the plastic substrate to be deposited, a non depositing pretreatment of this surface is performed. It is the object of the invention to provide a process as described above through which the adhesion of metal layers on a plastic substrate is improved. Furthermore, a web deposition machine shall be provided through which such process can be performed. The object is accomplished through a process so that the non depositing pretreatment is performed in two steps, thus in a first step in which the surface of the plastic substrate (2) is cleaned with a non reactive low energy plasma (14), and in a second step in which the surface of the plastic substrate (2) is activated through reactive high energy ion radiation (17).

  • Publication number: 20050238795
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for regulating the layer thickness of a coating material on a web moved in its longitudinal direction. The thickness of the layer is measured at several sites over the width of the web and a coating installation is regulated, such that the thickness of the layer is constant over the width of the web. The thickness regulation can be attained by means of intensity variations of electron beams, which vaporize a coating material. But it is also possible that several evaporator crucibles distributed over the width of the web are heated individually, such that a uniform coating results over the width of the web. With the aid of an additional transmission measuring instrument the composition of the coating material can also be regulated, such that it is constant over the width of the web.

  • Patent number: 6269156
Abstract: A method for setting up fee-optimized communications connections by a communications device (EX1), a server for setting up fee-optimized communications connections and a communications node (EX1) therefor. The communications device provides a database, which stores the fees accruing during the use of the communications paths (CON2A, CON2B) that can be used for setting up a communications connection. A first subscriber (SUB1) then logs on a call request to a second subscriber (SUB2) at the communications device. The communications device then determines a communications path (CON2A) between the first and second subscriber according to the overall lowest fees and sets up a communications connection between the first and second subscriber on said communications path. For this purpose, it is proposed that the communications device determines the fees accrued by said communications connection and charges them to a subscriber.
