  • Publication number: 20180177579
Abstract: A body tissue and vessel compression valve apparatus devised to position disjointed components remotely locatable into the body of a patient, to minimize obtrusion and discomfort of the patent, and to enable position of a valve head assembly in control of a lumen, or other tissue mass within a patient, while implanting such ancillary components as are required to drive the valve head assembly in separate and distinct locations within the patient whereby access to said components is enabled independently and implantation to a patient's specific physique is accommodated.

  • Publication number: 20170348533
Abstract: A telemetry port for providing an open space in which an antenna may transmit and receive signals free from interference from the metal shell of an implantable medical device, the telemetry port includes a housing defining a void space for receiving an antenna. The void space is configured to provide the antenna with sufficient space such that the antenna does not contact the housing. The housing further includes a periphery positioned along a bottom edge capable of being integrated to an implantable medical device, and forming a hermetic seal with the implantable medical device.

  • Publication number: 20170231747
Abstract: An extraluminal urethral prostate shield apparatus includes at least two collar members positionable around at least a portion of a bodily lumen. A plurality of longitudinal members securable between opposing faces of each of the at least two collar members in parallel array, surrounds the bodily lumen whereby obtrusion of enlarged tissue against the lumen is preventable and luminal patency is maintained.

  • Publication number: 20170231650
Abstract: An endoscope attachable cystolith entrapment apparatus, attachable to an extant endoscope, includes a sleeve mount and an operative end. A plurality of distensible leaves, actionable at the operative end, is moveable between a closed position, furled and retracted interior to an anterior aperture disposed at the operative end, and an open position, unfurled and extended out from the anterior aperture by manual action at a deployment member. Each of the plurality of distensible leaves is transparent whereby vesical calculi are sightable, targetable, and thence captuarable within a capture volume during cystoscopy, and thence removable from a bodily lumen absent direct contacting with adjacent tissue.

  • Patent number: 9655705
Abstract: An implantable apparatus for controlling fluid flow within a host body includes a constricting member for allowing fluid flow within a body canal when in an open position, and for reducing fluid flow within a body canal when in an closed position. Remote telemetry can be used to operate the constricting member from a position outside the body. The constricting member can include a piston having at least two protrusions for contacting the vessel surface of the body canal. A fluid-operated member can receive fluid to reduce fluid flow within the body canal and expel fluid to allow fluid flow within the body canal. An actuating member is provided for operating the fluid-operated member between the open and closed positions. The actuating member has structure for flowing fluid into and out of the fluid-operated member. A control device is provided for operating the actuating member.

  • Publication number: 20050197714
Abstract: A system (100) for regulating absorption and caloric intake can include an elongated tube (110) having a stomach portion (114) and a lower intestine portion (116) where the elongated tube defines a passage (114) to guide ingested material through the stomach (102) and through a portion of the small intestine (104). The system also includes a non-invasive stomach stricture device (150) having a clamping structure (152) for regulating the rate of flow of ingested material through the elongated tube where the clamping structure reduces the capacity of the passage by clamping a portion of the elongated tube through the exterior of the stomach.
