  • Patent number: 5841831
Abstract: In an x-ray computed tomography apparatus the source of X-rays and the detector are able to scan a volume of the examination subject in a short time. The X-ray source contains an anode that is elongated in the z-direction, on which the focus travels by a controlled deflection of an electron beam. A primary beam diaphragm is displaced synchronously with the focus movement along the anode. The diaphragm forms a pyramid-shaped X-ray beam which always fully strikes the detector but does not overshot the detector. The detector is formed by a matrix of detector elements.

  • Patent number: 5822395
Abstract: An x-ray tube with vario-focus has an evacuated housing in which are arranged, rigidly connected thereto, an electron-emitting cathode and an anode dish which is struck by the electron beam, accelerated with an electrical field. An electromagnetic system for deflecting and focusing the electron beam is provided, and has a number of current-permeated coil elements. A lateral x-ray beam exit window is provided in the housing for the x-rays, which emerge at substantially a right angle relative to the longitudinal middle axis. The x-rays are picked up by an image receiver following a subject table. At least the anode dish is tiltable relative to the connecting axis to the image receiver, and the electromagnetic system at least partially surrounds a cathode-side neck section of the housing, and generates a quadrupole field for modifying the electron beam cross-section, corresponding to the tilt angle.

  • Patent number: 5822394
Abstract: An X-ray tube having a vacuum housing rotatable around a rotational axis, a ring-shaped anode connected to the vacuum housing whose center axis corresponds to the rotational axis, a cathode arranged inside the vacuum housing and that surrounds the rotational axis and that emits electrons radially outward during operation of the X-ray tube, a rotatable support for the vacuum housing, a drive arrangement for turning the vacuum housing and an arrangement for focussing the electron beam proceeding from the cathode to the anode which focus the electron beam such that it strikes the anode in a stationary focal spot.

  • Patent number: 5812632
Abstract: An x-ray tube has an evacuated housing in which an electron-emitting cathode is rigidly mounted and a rotating anode having an anode dish rotatable by a drive arrangement, which is struck by the electron beam, accelerated with an electrical field, for producing x-rays. An electromagnetic system for the deflection and focusing of the electron beam has a number of current-permeated coil elements. The cathode generates a rotationally-symmetrical circular beam, and the rotational axis of the anode dish is offset from and parallel to the axis of the electron beam by the average radius of the anode dish edge. The electromagnetic system generates a dipole-free quadrupole field that deforms the electron beam cross-section.

  • Patent number: 5184806
Abstract: A jack (1) has a flat base (2) attached to a support (3) at the top by a lever-operated mechanism. The mechanism is activated by a threaded shaft (5) and nut (6). The nut has a coaxial gudgeon (10 & 11) on each side. The gudgeons extend across the axis (22) of an interior-threaded section. The nut consists of two halves (13 & 14). The halves fit together at a flat interface (15). The interface parallels both the axis (21) of the gudgeons and the axis (22) of the threaded section (23).

  • Patent number: 4617003
Abstract: A clutch assembly capable of providing several predetermined settings, wherein the components which support springs applying torque are not subjected to bending loads. The settings are achieved in that a supporting ring supporting a pressure plate against a clutch housing is provided with radially outwardly extending cams which are offset relative to the center thereof with two rows of apertures being provided in a cylindrical face of the clutch housing which are axially offset and offset relative to the angle of rotation and which correspond to the cams of the supporting ring and within which the cams are engaged.

  • Patent number: 4603998
Abstract: A shaft connecting mechanism is provided between a slip-on hub and a power takeoff shaft by means of a control ring which extends around the slip-on hub and which is formed to have a pressure screw extend through a threaded bore therein, the pressure screw engaging against a clamping wedge in the slip-on hub which is formed with a trapezoidal configuration generally conforming with the configuration of an axiallly extending groove formed in the slip-on hub. Blocking members are arranged in radial apertures in the slip-on hub and pockets are formed in the control ring. The pressure screw when angularly aligned with the clamping wedge, places the control ring in the locked position and when the pressure screw and the clamping wedge are angularly unaligned, the blocking members enter the pockets in the control ring.
