  • Publication number: 20240116233
Abstract: A plant for producing an extruded silicone intermediate has a mixer/extruder for mixing and subsequently extruding a silicone compound for producing a raw silicone extrudate. A heating apparatus of the plant serves for crosslinking the raw extrudate to give the crosslinked silicone intermediate. The result is a plant with which a silicone intermediate of this kind can be produced more economically.

  • Patent number: 11498126
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for producing a component, in particular a vehicle component or an engine component, such as a piston of an internal combustion engine. The method comprises forming a first body region, in particular by means of casting or forging. The method includes forming a second body region, which is connected to the first body region, from an aluminium alloy or an iron-based alloy or a copper-based alloy by means of an additive manufacturing method. The second body region is alloyed in such a manner that it has higher thermal stability, higher mechanical strength or higher wear resistance upon tribological stressing than the first body region.

  • Patent number: 11110228
Abstract: A component for an injection device is a combined needle shield and cap component that comprises a unitary compressible body moulded from rubber. The unitary compressible body has formed therein a cavity for shielding a needle, the cavity having an opening at a first end of the component and extending axially within the component. It also has formed thereon a grip arrangement comprising one or more shape features that permit gripping by a user of the component so as to facilitate the application of force by the user along the longitudinal axis of the component. The combined needle shield and cap component has a proximal end configured to be partly insertable into a body of an injection device.

  • Patent number: 10539092
Abstract: An internal combustion engine with at least one cylinder having a cylinder barrel that forms a guide for a piston associated with the cylinder. The cylinder barrel is only partially formed by a cylinder wall of a crankcase or of a cylinder liner fastened to the crankcase. The cylinder barrel, in a central region as seen in the cylinder axial direction, is formed by the cylinder wall. The cylinder wall, in an upper region of the cylinder barrel adjoining the central region and/or in a lower region adjoining the central region, has an encompassing recess into which is inserted a one-piece or multi-piece annular sliding element, the radially inner wall of which forms a part of the cylinder barrel.

  • Patent number: 8839514
Abstract: A method for machining, in particular mechanical machining, of at least one exhaust-gas-conducting surface region of an internal combustion engine or crankcase part, in particular at least one cylinder barrel of a crankcase or at least one cylinder barrel of a cylinder sleeve, includes using a surface-condition-changing machining tool. The surface region is produced from a corrodible material and is brought into contact, during the machining through the use of the surface-condition-changing machining tool, with at least one tribochemically activatable substance being activated during the machining in particular as a function of a defined contact pressure of the machining tool and/or as a function of a defined machining temperature, and forms a corrosion-resistant surface as a triboreaction layer with the respective surface region, by tribochemical reaction. A crankcase and a cylinder sleeve formed in this way are also provided.

  • Patent number: 5435182
Abstract: A method for determining at least one physical parameter of accumulator electrode plates, such as the true plate thickness P.sub.d, the apparent density D.sub.s of the active material, the true density D.sub.w of the active material, the pore volume P.sub.a, the porosity P.sub.0 of the active material or the pore structure, is performed such that, by means of various weighings, the weight (G.sub.FP) of a liquid plate is determined instead of the weight of a real electrode plate, and, from this value, the desired physical parameter is obtained which is used for controlling the production process.
