  • Publication number: 20240150128
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system for packaging articles (2). Outer packages (3) are set down on a horizontal conveying device (10, 20) and are transported along a packaging line. During the transport, articles are introduced via a manipulator into the outer packages (3), and the outer packages (3) with the introduced articles (2) are subsequently removed from the horizontal conveying device (10, 20) as a packaging unit (8). A predetermined packaging process (VP1) is carried out, in which the outer packages (3) are received by the horizontal conveying device (10, 20) via a plurality of shuttles (5), the outer packages (3) standing on said plurality of shuttles (5), until the outer packages (3) together with the introduced articles (2) are removed from the at least one horizontal conveying device (10, 20) as a packaging unit (8).

  • Publication number: 20220373408
Abstract: A microstructured optical fiber sensor for sensing changes in a physical characteristic up to a predetermined temperature is disclosed. The sensor includes a microstructured optical fiber and a fiber Bragg grating formed in the microstructured optical fiber by generating a periodic modulation in the refractive index along a core region of the suspended core. The fiber Bragg grating is configured to produce a band reflection spectra including a fundamental mode and a plurality of higher order modes whose respective wavelengths vary in accordance with changes in the physical characteristic at the core region of the microstructured optical fiber. The microstructured optical fiber is configured to increase the confinement loss of the plurality of higher order modes of the band reflection spectra relative to the fundamental mode.

  • Patent number: 8964984
Abstract: Detecting a speed violation of a vehicle traveling from a first roadside system to a second roadside system comprises: protecting evidence data collected at two roadside systems by encrypting each set of data with random session keys at each roadside system, and then encrypting the random session keys with a public key generated from an identity that may include a vehicle identifier and a timestamp. A ratio of the public keys is calculated and used to detect a violation, whereupon a private key is obtained for decrypting at least one of the encrypted session keys, and decrypting at least one of the encrypted evidence data with the decrypted session key.
