Publication number: 20210085199Abstract: An anatomical manometry catheter system, comprising a plurality of balloons on the distal end and being configured to be inflatable and/or deflatable. The system includes a connector assembly coaxially aligned with the catheter assembly, the connector assembly being connectable to the proximal end of the catheter. The connector assembly may have a connector interface connected to the proximal end of the catheter. The connector assembly may include a manifold comprising a plurality of channels configured to deliver the pressure transmission medium therethrough toward a respective catheter lumen for inflating one or more balloons. The connector assembly may include a charging mechanism fluidly coupled to the catheter that facilitates inflating each balloon of the plurality of balloons by a common actuating mechanism so as to simultaneously charge each balloon of the plurality of balloons.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2020Publication date: March 25, 2021Inventors: Peter Schlumpf, Ing Han Goping, Matthias Stadler, Tristan Zimmermann, Bryce Smith

Publication number: 20160106359Abstract: The sphincter test catheter includes a catheter body, the proximal end of which forms a probe. Corresponding electric lines which are led to a recording unit run through the catheter body. The sphincter test catheter has at least one pressure sensor and a position sensor in combination with either a pH value sensor or an impedance sensor. The combination depends on which sphincter is to be monitored. The position sensor is combined with a pH value sensor in order to monitor the lower esophageal sphincter while the position sensor is combined with an impedance sensor when monitoring the urethral sphincter.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2014Publication date: April 21, 2016Inventor: Peter SCHLUMPF

Publication number: 20120136339Abstract: The invention relates to a protective sleeve (1) in the form of a hose (4), having an outer lumen (40) and an inner lumen (42) disposed eccentrically therein. The outer lumen (40) is delimited to the exterior by an outer wall (41), and the inner lumen (42) is delimited by an inner wall (43). The two walls (41, 43) transition into a common wall segment (44) which has a thinnest region (48) acting as a membrane. Pressure sensor windows (11) can be provided in said region. Said pressure sensor windows are closed by a highly flexible, thin film. This can be done by means of a shrink film tube. A reusable pressure sensor catheter can be inserted into the inner lumen (42), while a rinsing solution can be introduced into the patient through the outer lumen. Reusable pressure sensor catheters can be used a plurality of times without requiring a sterilization process. The protective sleeve (1) is replaced after each use.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2010Publication date: May 31, 2012Inventor: Peter Schlumpf

Patent number: 7637876Abstract: A multifunctional catheter probe for carrying out intracorporal measurements, including a multiluminal flexible tubing divided into sections and joined together by coupling pieces and forming a multifunctional catheter probe. Each coupling piece has a central body with a central feed lumen lead-through and measurement lumen lead-throughs which are arranged around. The coupling is accomplished with suitable attachment nipples to the lumens of the flexible tube sections. A measurement lumen passage closed in the passage has a radial opening in or on which different measuring devices for the manometric or electro-sensory are attached.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2005Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Inventor: Peter Schlumpf

Patent number: 7556508Abstract: The invention relates to a multi-pole plug unit comprising a plug and a socket. The plug has a polygonal cross section, a longitudinal groove running in the region of a longitudinal edge, which longitudinal groove is crossed by a large number of transverse grooves with a predetermined grid pattern. A printed circuit board is inserted in the longitudinal groove, which printed circuit board has contact pads at certain points of the transverse grooves. The socket has contact wires or pins, which run transversely with respect to the longitudinal directions, to come to lie in the transverse grooves owing to the rotation of the plug and therefore come into touching contact with the contact faces and, at the same time, bring about translatory locking of the plug in the socket.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2006Date of Patent: July 7, 2009Inventor: Peter Schlumpf

Patent number: 5979823Abstract: A device for clamping a sleeve placed onto a tube for winding and/or unwinding a two-dimensional web, which, due to the clamping effect of at least one of the clamping elements to be engaged with the sleeve, is effectively connected with the tube which is rotated and driven around a longitudinal axis. The device has a hollow cylindrical tube, the inside space of which is developed as a pressure chamber to be charged with a medium, while the tube is provided with several clamping elements distributed to one another both in the axial and in the circumferential direction, while the clamping elements each are provided with a pressurized thrust carrying piece which can be moved radially and slid toward the outside to engage the sleeve, which, upon corresponding depressurization, releases the sleeve and returns said thrust carrying piece to the starting position.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1997Date of Patent: November 9, 1999Assignee: Schlumpf AGInventors: Hans Peter Schlumpf, Richard Gyr, Emil Wymann
