  • Patent number: 7748490
Abstract: An electrically operable wheelchair having a seat, a base with a pair of motors respectively coupled with the main support wheels, a position detection assembly, and a controller coupled with the position detection assembly and the motors for controlling wheelchair operation in order to effect desired wheelchair movements. The hands-free input device of the invention, which includes the position detection assembly and a position detection device, provides input signals representative of desired wheelchair movements to the controller. The position detection device detects the position of the seat. Movement of the seat, rather than a joystick, creates the voltage signals which are then transmitted to the wheelchair controller.

  • Patent number: 7043806
Abstract: A radial press has a press frame with press yokes movable relative to one another. The press yokes have on each side of a dividing gap (T) a recess with initial slide surfaces on which at least two supports situated displaceably opposite one another relative to the gap (T). The first slide surfaces for the displaceable supports are aligned parallel to one another and perpendicular to a pressing direction (P). Two of the oppositely lying support bodies can be displaced by a wedge-shaped thrusting body which can move parallel to the dividing gap (T), the thrusting body being mounted in the recesses between two second slide surfaces, the second slide surfaces forming an angle between them. The angle is chosen such that the path of the thrusting body parallel to the dividing gap (T) is of the same magnitude as the pressing stroke of the press yokes perpendicular thereto.

  • Publication number: 20050061052
Abstract: A radial press (1) for pressing hollow workpieces has a press frame with press yokes (2, 3) movable relative to one another and a press drive with a given pressing direction (P) and a set of press jaws (14) with at least four pressing faces (8a, 9a, 10a, 11a) which are movable relative to a workpiece axis. The press yokes (2, 3) have on each side of a dividing gap (T) a recess (4, 5) with initial slide surfaces (6a, 7a) on which at least two supports (8, 9, 10, 11) situated displaceably opposite one another relative to the gap (T).

  • Patent number: 5323697
Abstract: In a radial press having a press axis (A) , a plurality of outer cam surfaces (1, 2, 3, 4) at an angle to one another are grouped in two press yokes (18, 19) which are driven radially against one another. The planes of symmetry of the cam surfaces (1-2 and 3-4) disposed in the same press yoke are parallel with the drive direction. A number of outer cam follower bodies (31) lying between each pair of the outer cam surfaces serve for the radial advancement of press jaws (30) toward the press axis. Inner cam follower bodies (37) with additional press jaws (41) are driven synchronously by the outer cam follower bodies (31).

  • Patent number: 4774828
Abstract: A radial press having a plurality of dies concentrically arranged about an axis of the press is described. In particular, the dies are movable in a radial direction relative to the press axis by means of a cam member axially displaced relative to a pressure pad by an hydraulic drive mechanism. The drive mechanism having a piston, piston rod and bearings is attached to a pressure pad and to the cam member in a manner providing a large clearance space accommodating a variety of workpieces in the rear portion of the press. During the pressing operation, the piston rods are stressed in tension eliminating the need for an end plate and tension rods of prior art radial presses.

  • Patent number: 4766808
Abstract: A radial press with a plurality of press jaws whose outer sides have at least two control surfaces configured at an angle to the press axis in a V-shaped arrangement. These jaws are moved in the radial direction by two control bodies, each of whose inner sides have at least one control surface cooperating with the corresponding control surfaces of the press jaws. The axial displacement of the control bodies relative to one another is performed by a drive means. The control surfaces of the press jaws and of the control bodies are planar surfaces with a slope in the direction of the axis, whose surface normals through the centroids of the surfaces intersect the axis. The control surfaces of the control bodies form the bottom surfaces of grooves whose sidewalls run parallel and are surfaces for guiding the press jaws. Between the control surfaces of the control bodies and the control surfaces of the press jaws, plates of a bearing material are inserted.

  • Patent number: 4578982
Abstract: A radial press for workpieces (26) having a cylindrical outer surface, comprises toggle levers (10) movable in a radial plane and having inner and outer ends. The radial press has a press casing (6) comprising at least two parts (18, 19) and having radial guides (5) and guide bodies (4) for a plurality of dies disposed about the axis of the outer surface of the workpiece and driven by toggle levers (10). The press casing has a compression ring (8) guided concentrically to an axis (A--A) with outer pivot points (9) for the toggle levers. A circumferential rim (34) is provided on the casing parts on both sides, each rim overlapping the compression ring (8), and the compression ring (8) being supported thereon through rotational guides (20). The casing parts form one unit clamped together by bolts passing through both casing parts.

  • Patent number: 4413501
Abstract: An apparatus for the pressure testing of tubing has two support members which can be urged towards one another, one of which forming a counterbearing for the tubing and the other having a spigot with a conical face which is at least partially insertable in one end of the tube under test to seal it. The support member with the spigot is connected to an actuating spindle which is coaxial with the axis of the spigot and between the actuating spindle and the support member there is a pressure drive including a cylinder and a piston which is connected in tandem with the actuating spindle to bring the spigot into engagement with the tube. The spigot has a duct through which a test medium can be introduced into the tubing.

  • Patent number: 4306442
Abstract: A radial press for workpieces with cylindrical outer surfaces has a plurality of pressing jaws arranged in a circle for radial movement towards the axis of the workpiece outer surface. A pressure ring acts on the pressing jaws so that when the pressure ring is axial displaced, the jaws will open and close. Both the pressure ring and the pressing jaws each have two surface parts, having a wide setting angle and two surface parts having a narrow setting angle, wherein the surface parts having a wide setting angle are disposed firstly at the end faces and secondly between the surface parts having the narrow setting angle. In this way, when the pressing jaws are closed, the surface parts having the wide setting angle are deployed first, and then the surface parts having the narrow setting angle are deployed.
