  • Patent number: 9370756
Abstract: A method for producing agglomerated particles, including maintaining in a fluid bed a fluidised particle layer above a plate having perforations through which fluidisation gas flows, the fluid bed being divided into an inner and an outer zone, supplying the fluidised particle layer with descending particles directly from a spray dryer to be agglomerated in the fluid bed, atomizing an agglomeration liquid in the fluidised layer of particles, and guiding the fluidised particles in a plug-flow toward an outlet. The outer zone receives the majority of the descending particles and the inner zone is connected to an outlet.

  • Publication number: 20150246333
Abstract: The invention relates to an agglomeration apparatus comprising a fluid bed, a source of descending particles, one or more nozzles for atomizing an agglomeration fluid and an outlet for discharging the agglomerated particles. In the fluid bed, the particles are guided towards the outlet and pass an outer and an inner zone. The apparatus provides for the production of an improved agglomerated particulate product with a low content of fine particles.

  • Patent number: 8402672
Abstract: A method of controlling a spray dryer apparatus having a spray dryer chamber (1), an air inlet (2), an inlet air control system (11) including a fan (13) and an air heater (14), a feed inlet (3), and an exhaust air outlet (4), comprising determining a content (Y) of moisture of inlet air, determining an inlet air temperature set value (Tinlet) in dependence of the inlet air moisture content (Y), determining an inlet air temperature measured value of inlet air between the air heater (14) and the spray dryer chamber (1), and regulating the inlet air temperature in dependence of the inlet air temperature set value and the inlet air temperature measured value, and determining an outlet air temperature of the exhaust air and regulating an inlet air flow rate in dependence of the outlet air temperature.
