  • Patent number: 4510421
Abstract: A linear stator magnet in which the yoke stack is pole shanks flanked by cheek plates which are overlapped by the stabilizing yoke plates and are form and force-locked to projections of these yoke plates. Additional excitation coils are provided around the pole shoes and are connected in circuit with the main excitation coils around the pole shanks so that these additional excitation coils are provided in the gaps between the successive pole shoes and stray flux is minimized.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 8, 1983
Date of Patent: April 9, 1985
    Assignee: Krauss-Maffei Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventor: Peter Schwarzler
  • Patent number: 4408139
Abstract: An asynchronous linear motor in which a stator mounted on a vehicle, e.g. a magnetically supported vehicle, cooperates with a reaction rail along a track for propulsion of the vehicle. According to the invention, the core of the stator comprises a pocketed frame-like or grid structure of non-magnetic material in the pockets of which sheet stacks of electrical steel are received, the central compartment or pocket serving as a cooling compartment through which a liquid coolant can be circulated. The reaction rail can partly enclose the stator.

  • Patent number: 4259908
Abstract: An electromagnetic suspension vehicle has an electromagnet system for suspending and guiding the vehicle along a track, the electromagnet being elastically suspended so as to be able to move generally parallel to itself transversely of the direction of travel.

  • Patent number: 3971537
Abstract: A magnetic-suspension or levitation vehicle comprises a track having a plurality of substantially continuous rails cooperating with respective systems upon the vehicle, e.g. a reaction rail cooperating with a linear induction motor, a contact rail cooperating with shoes for delivering current to or electrically connecting the vehicle to a central station, an armature rail for a magnetic suspension and/or guide arrangement etc.; at least two and preferably all of the rails are mounted upon common supports which, in turn, are anchored to the track structure at spaced locations along the vehicle path. Thus the relative position of the rails can be established in a factory and the prefabricated rail assembly erected at the track site as a unit.

  • Patent number: 3967561
Abstract: A linear-induction motor for use on a magnetic-suspension vehicle which is supported by suspension electromagnets from a track having an armature rail cooperating with the electromagnets and with a reaction rail cooperating with the flat linear-induction motor. The stator, carried by the vehicle, has a stator core and comb lamination stacks in which the laminations of the stack are perpendicular to the direction in which the stator extends and to the substantially flat reaction rail.
