  • Patent number: 11960488
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to performing a join operation with bitmap indexes of virtual data sources (VDSs). A distributed compute cluster having a set of compute nodes may maintain a plurality of VDSs based on a set of corresponding origins. A given VDS of the plurality of VDSs may include a bitmap index representative of a portion of data stored at the set of origins. The distributed compute cluster may receive a request for data stored across at least first and second bitmap indexes of the plurality of VDSs. The distributed compute cluster may perform a join operation to generate a join result having data from the first and second bitmap indexes. The distributed compute cluster may return a response that includes the join result.

  • Publication number: 20080093937
Abstract: An electrical machine, preferably a blower drive mechanism for a motor vehicle, having a shaft which is supported in at least two bearings with a specified axial play; a cylindrical bearing is secured in a bearing seat of an end shield and rests directly on the bearing seat. The cylindrical bearing has a cylindrical outer circumference, and the bearing seat is a sleeve with a cylindrical inside diameter, into which sleeve the cylindrical bearing is secured with a press fit on the outer circumference and is held axially in the bearing seat by the thus-attained frictional engagement. This has the advantage that more-precise adjustment of the longitudinal play of the armature is possible. Moreover, no additional components such as retaining springs are necessary.

  • Publication number: 20060153274
Abstract: A temperature sensing method in which pulses of optical radiation are launched by a laser diode (11) into an optical fibre (14) and optical radiation backscattered from the fibre is detected, the method comprising passing the backscattered radiation through a single optical filter (15) whereby a first signal is recorded at the anti-Stokes Raman wavelength from a signal launched by laser diode in a laser mode and a second signal is recorded at the Rayleigh wavelength from a signal launched by the laser diode in a light emitting diode mode, and a comparison is made of the two signals to provide an indication of temperature.

  • Patent number: 6520708
Abstract: In a device for connecting two parts for the sake of high-precision fixation of the two parts in a defined positioning to one another, two connection pairs are provided, each comprising one wedgelike tab, assigned to the first part and extending in the connection direction, and one wedge-shaped notch, assigned to the other part and extending in the connection direction, with a course of the wedge that is contrary to that to the tab, and into which notch the tab can be pressed, causing deformation. The two connection pairs are oriented such that the press-in directions of the tabs into the assigned notches are opposite one another in terms of the connection direction.

  • Patent number: 6164830
Abstract: A pendulum sliding bearing has a sliding bearing bushing provided for receiving a rotatable elements, such as shafts, axles and the like, the sliding bearing bushing having calotte portions at end sides, a bearing body formed of a metal plate and having a ring-shaped abutment surface for one of the calotte portions of the sliding bearing bushing, a wall extending substantially outwardly of the abutment surface, and a casing adjoining the wall and provided for insertion in a cylindrical opening, a spring disk having a central opening and an adjoining at least one second abutment surface for the second calotte portion of the sliding bearing bushing and having a radially outer edge fixed on the bearing body, the casing being subdivided into casing fields which extend substantially parallel to a longitudinal axial of the bearing body so that gaps are available between the casing fields, a plurality of supporting fingers extending at least over a width of the gaps from the wall in a direction opposite to a course
