  • Patent number: 10673688
Abstract: A system and method for improving network resiliency is disclosed. The system includes a network having a plurality of network devices and at least one controller. The controller is configured to create various scenes based on the inputs received from the network devices. The controller is also configured to provide alternate instructions to the network devices in the event that the controller is non-functional. The network devices utilize these alternate instructions when attempts to connect the controller are unsuccessful. In this way, the network is able to operate in a limited way even in the absence of the controller.

  • Patent number: 8724532
Abstract: In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for configuring a constant powered mesh network node to control a configuration of an intermittently powered mesh network node, where the intermittently powered mesh network node may include a repeater node that periodically powers down for a time period to conserve energy. The embodiments include transmitting a message beam to the repeater node, where a duration of the message beam length may exceed the time period that the repeater node is powered down, and where the message beam may contain a preamble with data that may indicate that the repeater node is to remain powered up in order to receive a message, and may cause the intermittently powered mesh network node to request configuration information relating to a network topology from the constant powered mesh network node when the intermittently powered mesh network node powers up.

  • Publication number: 20120281521
Abstract: In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for sending a single cast frame from a first node to a second node in a mesh network; sending the single cast frame from the second node to a third node in a mesh network; using the first node to detect the single cast frame sent from the second node to the third node; and interpreting this detection within the first node as an acknowledgement of success in sending the single cast frame from the first node to the second node. An additional method described herein may send a second single cast from the second node to a third node in a mesh network, interpret detection of the second single class frame within the first node as an acknowledgement of success in sending the first single cast frame from the first node to the second node.
