  • Patent number: 11788039
Abstract: A wine filtering system includes a container assembly, a collector, and a screen assembly. The collector is configured to be supported by the container assembly. The screen assembly is configured to be supported by the collector and within the container assembly. The screen assembly includes a screen mount having one or more mesh screens secured thereto. The one or more mesh screens are configured to separate at least portions of an alcohol component of wine from a juice component of wine sprayed thereagainst to define a filtered wine and a filtered alcohol. The one or more mesh screens enable the filtered wine to pass through the one or more mesh screens for collection by the collector such that the collector directs the collected filtered wine into the container assembly.

  • Patent number: 10341282
Abstract: A digital magazine server presents content to a user that includes various content items. The user may provide a comment to the digital magazine server for association with a content item and may identify an additional user in the comment. To allow the user to more easily identify the additional user, the digital magazine server associates information identifying users who have performed actions with the content item in association with the content item. The digital magazine server compares information in a request to provide a comment to the information identifying the users who have performed actions with the content item and presents the user with information identifying users who have performed actions with the content item that at least partially matches a portion of the information in the request.

  • Patent number: 10298528
Abstract: A digital magazine server receives user comments on content items of a digital magazine and generates comment threads. A comment thread has one or more user comments associated with a content item and at least one topic. A topic thread on a selected topic includes one or more comment threads related to the selected topic. To select comment threads for a topic thread based on the selected topic, the digital magazine server determines the relevance of the topic of each comment thread to the topic of the topic thread and determines the quality of the comment thread based on a plurality of quality factors such as number of comments and timestamps of the comments in a comment thread. The digital magazine server aggregates the comment threads based on at least one of topic relevance determination and thread quality determination and selects comment threads based on the aggregation.

  • Publication number: 20190045865
Abstract: A collapsible hat having a brim is made by inserting a leading end portion of an elongated, three-dimensional, frame element into an opening of an annular compartment extending around an outer periphery of the brim until the leading end portion passes through another opening of the annular compartment. The leading end portion is connected to a trailing end portion to make the frame element circumferentially complete to thereby impart a three-dimensional shape to the outer periphery of the brim that corresponds to the configuration of the three-dimensional frame element.

  • Patent number: 10113908
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method of a real-time, monitoring and control feedback system for a 2-D spectrometer application, to correct for active optical axis pointing misalignments or jitter (i.e., tip, tilt), that result in degraded scientific image integrity, unwanted spatial crosstalk and image blurring artifacts which severely limit the applications for high resolution spectrometer image data. The present invention provides a unique system architecture which ensures the most direct optical axis motion detection and control capability that will enable sub-pixel image motion monitoring and boresight control stability, thus, maximizing the science image quality.

  • Patent number: 9987601
Abstract: A device aerates a drinkable liquid inside a handheld container. An aerator is detachably mounted on the container in a mounted position. The aerator has an aerator portion that extends into the liquid and that is held adjacent an interior surface of a side wall of the container in the mounted position. The aerator portion has a multitude of turbulence-inducing agitating elements, such as pores, through which the liquid in the container flows to, and impacts against, the interior surface of the side wall of the container, and mixes with ambient air in the container, when the container is manually swirled to aerate the liquid.

  • Publication number: 20170112338
Abstract: A sitting toilet is converted to a squat toilet. A seat having a bottom surface is formed with a channel. A support has a central hinged portion, a pair of leg portions that extend away from the hinged portion, and a footrest structure mounted on the leg portions. The hinged portion is mounted on a front of the bottom surface of the seat for movement between a stowed position in which the support is at least partly received in the channel, and a deployed position in which the support maintains a user seated on the seat in a squatting posture. The leg portions extend toward a floor on which the toilet is supported in the deployed position. The footrest structure is positioned forwardly of the seat to support a seated user's feet at a raised elevation above the floor in the deployed position.

  • Publication number: 20160239083
Abstract: A jewelry-stylus device includes a jewelry item wearable on a body part of a user, and a stylus element mounted on the jewelry item, for contacting a touch screen. The device may have a plurality of arcuate shank parts that are movable between a closed position in which the shank parts form an annulus that at least partially encircles a body part of the user, and an open position in which two of the shank parts are connected in series along a row when the device is used as a stylus, for example, for data entry. The stylus element, for example, an electrically conductive nib, is mounted on one of the shank parts and positioned at a leading end nib region of the stylus in the open position. The user grips the device at another shank part remotely from the nib.

  • Publication number: 20060004468
Abstract: A prosthetic pneumatic unit includes a cylinder body, both ends of which are respectively closed by a head part and a bottom part, and a piston is interposed within the cylinder body and defines a first and a second chambers; the cylinder body having a first and a second air passages each having a contraction part at the lower portion thereof; a piston rod connected to the piston; an elastic member received in the second chamber for pushing the piston back to an original position thereof; and a first and a second valve mechanisms respectively received in the first and the second air passages for controlling the respective traveling drags and thus up- and down-traveling velocities of the piston rod. Therefore, the up- and down-traveling velocities of the piston rod thereof can be separately controlled by the adjustments of the first and second valve mechanisms according to users'desires.

  • Patent number: 4684805
Abstract: Spectroscopic measurements of stable isotopes are performed using a tunable lead salt diode laser. The design of the system is based upon the optimization of isotopic spectral lines from two different path lengths in an absorption cell using a single gaseous sample. A short path cell to measure the more abundant species and a long path cell to measure the less abundant species are used. A micrometer adjustment of a path length is used for equalizing spectral line intensities to obtain a measure of isotope enrichment or of absolute isotopic concentration.

  • Patent number: 4055144
Abstract: A moving essentially non-porous web is positioned above and in close proximity to the upper surface of a narrow, very shallow pool of coating solution. A coating meniscus extends directly from the upper surface to the web to transfer coating solution from the pool to the web. Stagnation of solution in the pool is eliminated by feeding solution to the pool at the center and bottom thereof, and removing excess solution through ports at the top surface of the pool at each end thereof.

  • Patent number: 4043296
Abstract: Apparatus for applying a coating of photographically sensitive liquid on one side of a moving aluminum web is constructed with a backing or support roller having stepped portions at each end of an unstepped central portion. The latter is engaged with the anterior surface of the web and is narrower than the web so that coating liquid applied to one surface of the web does not migrate to the edges of the web to contaminate the anterior side thereof. The width of the central portion is great enough so that mechanical stress on the web is not excessive and the undercut height is sufficient to exceed deflection of the web at the edges thereof.
