  • Patent number: 10995617
Abstract: An apparatus and method for protecting a person servicing a longwall shear such changing bits on a drum, embodiments relating to a base plate to be secured to an underside of a shield canopy and a slide plate movably connected to the underside of the base plate such that the slide plate can advance out from the shield canopy to allow a person to service a longwall shear while being protected by the slide plate from falling rock and other debris, and the slide plate can then retract back under the shield canopy.

  • Patent number: 9028677
Abstract: In various aspects, the invention provides for processing a hydrocarbon feed having hydrocarbon and emulsified aqueous components demulsifying into hydrocarbon and aqueous phases over an initial demulsification time, with an active agent to form a treated feed. The active agent has an active agent solubility in the hydrocarbon component and in the aqueous component, the aqueous component has an aqueous component solubility in the hydrocarbon component. The active agent solubility in the hydrocarbon component is greater than the aqueous component solubility in the hydrocarbon component. The active agent solubility in the aqueous component is greater than the active agent solubility in the hydrocarbon component. The active agent solubility in the aqueous component is greater than the active agent solubility in the hydrocarbon component.

  • Publication number: 20140360620
Abstract: A twitching tool (20) for winding a free end (18b) of a wire (18) about a longitudinally extending support wire (12). The tool (20) comprising a body (21) having an engagement end (22) for engaging with the free end (18b) of the wire (18); a stabilising end (26) for engagement with the longitudinally extending support wire (12) and a handle portion (24) extending between the engagement end (22) and the stabilising end (26). The handle portion (24) is configured to be gripped by a user to facilitate rotation of the body (21) about the longitudinally extending support wire (12) to cause the free end (18b) of the wire (18) to be wound about the longitudinally extending support wire (12).

  • Patent number: 4342117
Abstract: A mirror mounting arrangement for a gas laser, in which the end faces of the laser body are ground and polished to the required accuracy and form direct seatings for the end mirror. The mirror is mounted in an annular frame having an external thin flange remote from the mirror position. This flange confronts a similar flange fixed on to the laser body, the two flanges being separated by an annular gap. A double flanged spacer element which is fractionally shorter, axially, than the gap is inserted in it and welded to the adjacent flanges under axial pressure. The mirror is thus permanently urged into engagement with the laser body end face and its position and attitude fixed. The remoteness of the welding seam avoids damage to the mirror.
