  • Patent number: 6024481
Abstract: A mixer for liquid or suspensions comprises two mixing chambers each of which is provided with an outer inlet. The chambers are connected to each other in such a way that the first chamber leads to the second chamber. A number of mixing elements are arranged on a rotating axis which is common for the two chambers. The mixing elements have different shapes in the two chambers. In the first chamber the mixing elements are arranged to achieve mixing by means of large shear forces. In the second chamber the mixing elements are arranged to achieve mixing by stirring mainly without shear forces. A method for continuous mixing comprises mixing a little amount of a first liquid with a considerably larger amount of a second liquid in a first mixing chamber in which the mixing takes place by way of high shear forces. The obtained mixture is subjected to mixing by stirring mainly without shear forces in a second mixing chamber.

  • Patent number: 6001220
Abstract: A deodorisation plant for treatment of fatty oils comprises a vessel (1) connected to a vacuum source. In the vessel there is a distillation column filled with structured packing material through which column the oil which shall be deodorised is brought to flow under influence of gravity and to meet a deodorisation gas in counter-current. In the vessel there is also a number of trays for collection of oil provided with drainage outlets in their lower part. The oil is treated with deodorisation gas in a batchwise way in these trays. The vessel is provided with an inlet (7) for oil and a connection (2) to a vacuum source in its upper part. In its lower part there is an outlet (9) for oil.

  • Patent number: 4339333
Abstract: A filter device comprising a tubular housing with an inlet for the fluid to be filtered in one end of the housing, an outlet for filtrate in the opposite end of the housing and a filter tube mounted inside the housing and extending essentially in the axial direction of the tubular housing. At least part of the filter tube wall forms the filter surface. One end of the filter is openly connected to said inlet, whereas the other end is closed so that an annular feed conduit is formed between the housing and the filter tube. A first valve means is arranged inside the filter tube to shut off the filter tube, during cleaning periods, thereby dividing the filter tube and the filter surface into an upstream part and a downstream part, and forcing the entire filtrate stream to pass through said upstream part of the filter surface into the filtrate conduit.
