  • Patent number: 5483960
Abstract: MXA Scan analysis in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the invention can be viewed as a process of placing points on the lateral morphometry image at the anterior, mid, and posterior positions of the inferior and superior endpoints for each vertebral body in the spinal region of interest. These point locations are then used to calculate the anterior, mid, and posterior heights of the vertebral bodies. These heights are then compared to one another and to known normal values for the heights and ratios of the heights for each vertebral body and among vertebral bodies to quantify the degree of vertebral deformity.

  • Patent number: 5000624
Abstract: Fluidized powder in a powder preparation container is treated to impart to it a desired moisture content through the feeding into the fluidized powder of a stream of compressed air whose moisture content and temperature have been carefully regulated. Powder in the preparation container which has attained the desired moisture content is then transferred to a powder holding container and from there to a spraying device by which spraying device the powder is electrostatically charged and sprayed on articles. Further, the powder preparation container is heated along several distinct heating zones which are arranged one above the other along the axis, i.e. height, of the container. The powder in the powder preparation container is stratified with the powder at the bottom of the container being affected only negligibly by the continuous introduction of fresh powder through the top of the container.

  • Patent number: 4787479
Abstract: A control system for a central lubrication system with an electrically operated lubrication pump for vehicles without their own power source, such as trailers, carriers for utility vehicle, etc., includes an electrical time-controlling device to activate the lubrication pump as a function of the operating time of the vehicle. Power is supplied to the time-controller device and the drive motor for the lubrication pump via the feed lines for the brake light. The time-controlling device has a sensor which detects motion of the vehicle or parts of the vehicle and generates a signal for a second timer during such motion.
