  • Patent number: 6517917
Abstract: The invention describes food-compatible monofilaments and flat-shaped bodies made from them, wherein the monofilaments are based on polyester with the addition of 0.5 to 3.5 percent by weight of a polycarbonate, and which are characterized by an especially high abrasion resistance and resistance to foods. The shaped bodies are used for transporting, packaging, storing and handling foods and are characterized by reduced abrasion and an increased abrasion resistance. The quality of the foods that come into contact with such shaped bodies is excellent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 23, 2001
Date of Patent: February 11, 2003
    Assignee: Teijin Monofilament Germany GmbH
Inventors: Hans-Joachim BrĂ¼ning, Peter Striegl, Andreas Lichtblau

  • Patent number: 6250456
Abstract: A conveyor belt (5) for transport systems is described, containing an areal textile configuration based on predominantly synthetic yarns, characterized in that the conveyor belt has the form of an endless strip and the yarns extending in the running direction of the conveyor belt are elastic, the elastic yarns having a maximum tensile elongation of at least 60% and consisting at least 70 wt. %, referred to total yarn weight, of a thermoplastic, elastomer copolyether ester containing recurrent structural units of formulas I and II, —O—OC—Ar2—CO—O—R4—  (I) and —O—OC—Ar3—CO—O—R5—  (II), where Ar2 and Ar3 independently of each other represent bivalent aromatic radicals, R4 represents a bivalent aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical, and R5 stands for the bivalent radical of a polyalkylene ether. Likewise described are uses of this conveyor belt, a method of transporting goods, and a transport system.

  • Patent number: 6030905
Abstract: A filter material is described containing synthetic yarns based on a thermoplastic, elastomer copolyether ester. The yarns contain at least 70 wt. %, referred to total yarn weight, of a thermoplastic, elastomer copolyether ester containing at least 95 wt. %, referred to the total weight of the thermoplastic, elastomer copolyether ester, of the recurrent structural units of formulas I and II,--O--OC--Ar.sup.2 --CO--O--R.sup.4 (I)and--O--OC--Ar.sup.3 --CO--O--R.sup.5 (II),where Ar.sup.2 and Ar.sup.3 independently of each other represent bivalent aromatic radicals,R.sup.4 represents a bivalent aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical, andR.sup.5 stands for the bivalent radical of a polyalkylene ether. The invention also relates to a method of producing this filter material and to a filter press containing such a filter material.

  • Patent number: 5176944
Abstract: A textile fastener consists of monofilaments (12, 14; 22, 28) made of polyesters which have been formed from dicarboxylic acid and diol components and into which a flame retardant has been incorporated. The flame retardant is present in the polyester chains as copolymerized elements having the structural units of the general formula ##STR1## where R is alkylene, arylene or aralkylene and R.sub.1 is alkyl, aryl or aralkyl.
