  • Patent number: 9810080
Abstract: A moisture separator for a steam turbine power plant for separating moisture from a flow of vapor or gas that includes a bundle of vanes having a corrugated portion and a trailing edge. The trailing edge includes means to collect moisture on the surfaces of the trailing edge. These means can include a clip-like attachment, or a U-shape of the trailing edge itself. The collection means on the trailing edge contribute to the overall moisture separation efficiency of the moisture separator and a decrease of risk of damage to the steam turbine driven by the steam flow.

  • Patent number: 7931720
Abstract: A water preseparator (1) for steam turbine plants for the separation of water from the operating steam (SW) from a high-pressure steam turbine has a feed pipe (2) which extends over the starting section of a steam transfer pipe (4), wherein the two pipes are separated from each other by a gap (11) through which water (12) together with transporting steam (St) flow into a housing. The water discharges from the preseparator (1) via a water discharge pipe (6). the preseparator has structure for recycling of the transporting steam into the operating steam of the steam turbine plant, wherein this recycling structure has built-in fittings or a baffle (9) of the transporting steam, and also structure (4) for achieving a pressure drop, wherein the pressure drop exists between the gap (11) and a point at which the transporting steam is reintroduced into the operating steam (SW).

  • Patent number: 4530612
Abstract: Rather than repeatedly using the entire length of a multi-color print ribbon in an impact printer until the reaching of a lower quality threshold requires replacement of the ribbon, this invention causes only a subsection of limited length of the ribbon to be used until the lower quality threshold of any one of the color tracks of this subsection is reached, after which the ribbon is advanced to enable use of a fresh subsection. The quality status of the currently used subsection may be monitored by counting the number of impacts on each individual color track and comparing that number with a predetermined, stored value, or by shining light through the ribbon and optically comparing the passing light with a preset value. The method is flexible enough to permit manual advance of the ribbon to a fresh subsection in case a printing job requires highest possible quality.

  • Patent number: 4354534
Abstract: A reed for a jet loom, in which the filling yarns are introduced into the shed by a gaseous fluid expelled from nozzles arranged spaced apart over the loom width and which periodically enter the shed, which reed has first reed blades having a profiling on their one edge and together form a guide channel for the filling yarn; and in the region of the projection of the nozzles onto the reed there are provided second reed blades the shape of which at their one edge is so selected that the guide channel is open on the wall thereof adjacent the nozzles.

  • Patent number: 4068224
Abstract: Alphanumeric characters are stored in compressed form by creating a character list of information describing each character. The character is divided into rows and columns. To reconstruct the character, a position register is provided to accommodate successive positional values in a column where a transition from white/black (or vice versa) occurs. A decoder circuit, which has a number of outputs corresponding to the number of positional values possible, is coupled to the position register and provides an output associated with each of the transition values. The decoder circuit is followed by control means which is operable in response to the energized outputs of the decoder circuit to generate control signals which energize a utilization device to reconstruct continuous black areas in a column extending from transition value to transition value.
