  • Publication number: 20230169655
Abstract: Techniques are described herein for automated bone mineral density and fracture risk assessment from digital X-rays. A method includes: obtaining image data including information relating to cortical bone tissue of at least a part of a first bone; preprocessing the image data, by isolating a region of interest in the image data, to generate preprocessed image data; applying the preprocessed image data as inputs across a trained machine learning model to generate output indicative of bone mineral density of the first bone; determining a T-score value based on the bone mineral density of the first bone; and providing, on a user interface, an output based on the T-score value.

  • Patent number: 5976188
Abstract: A modular system for hybrid fixation of a joint prosthesis into a bone cavity includes a sleeve having a bore therethrough. The sleeve is cementable within the bone cavity. A prosthetic component is insertable into the bore of the sleeve. The prosthetic component is retained within the sleeve and secured to the bone without cement.

  • Patent number: 5387239
Abstract: An adjustable length prosthetic implant includes an implant body and an axially received stem. The stem has a threaded portion and an end portion adapted for mounting with a bone. The implant body includes an end portion adapted for mounting with a bone and a tubular sleeve. The sleeve adjustably receives the stem. An adjustment nut is rotatably carried upon the sleeve for threadably engaging the stem to effect telescopic length adjustment of the stem relative to the sleeve. A jam nut is threaded over the stem and forcibly tightened against the adjustment collar to prevent accidental adjustment of the stem. The female thread formation in each of the adjustment collar and jam nut includes a wedge ramp positioned across the thread root for engaging the thread crest of the corresponding male screw formation on the stem to evenly distribute stresses through the screw formations.

  • Patent number: 5314481
Abstract: A knee prosthesis includes a femoral component for attachment to the condyle region of a femur in a human knee and a tibial component for attachment to the superior articular region of a tibia in the knee. The femoral component and tibial component are pivotally hinged together by a pintle. The femoral component includes a concave channel extending perpendicular to the axis of the pintle to form a patellar guide surface.
