  • Patent number: 5226609
Abstract: A motion picture film shipping and handling case unit is adapted to be used in conjunction with a motion picture film that is supported on a flange, or which is supported only on a hub, including a hub unit such as disclosed in these two patent applications. The case unit includes a strap surrounding the outer perimeter of the unit, a plurality of straps connected to a handle and locks. The locks include a lap joint on the case unit and a special case lock attached to the case unit.

  • Patent number: 5174516
Abstract: A motion picture film shipping and handling unit is adaptable for use on either a platter-type movie projector system or on a reel-type movie projector system. The unit includes two film supporting flanges with a hub located therebetween. A central supporting hub is releasably connected to the hub, and fasteners releasably attach the elements together. A locking ring connects the flanges together and a flexible film winding ring surrounds the locking ring. A packing ring formed of one or more separate annular sections is located between the locking ring and the film winding ring. A handling assembly assists in moving a shipping and handling unit into position adjacent to a platter of a platter-type motion picture projector. Another form of the handling assembly includes a platter system that has the platters thereof mounted on pivots and telescoping arms to move into position to accept film from a vertically oriented film shipping and handling unit. Ramps elevate the shipping and handling unit as necessary.

  • Patent number: 5174517
Abstract: A motion picture film shipping and handling system is adaptable for use on either a platter-type movie projector system or on a reel-type movie projector system. The system includes two film supporting flanges with a collapsible hub located therebetween. A central supporting hub is releasably connected to the collapsible hub, and fasteners releasably attach the elements together. A shipping case contains the flanges and the film in a manner which dissipates impact forces to protect the film and the flanges.

  • Patent number: 4238150
Abstract: An electronic flash device for associated camera attachment, in which the flash device is rotatable about an axis generally perpendicular to the normally horizontal viewing plane of the camera lens. The light sensor of the flash device is automatically positioned by the rotational movement of the flash device, for maintaining the sensor's line of sight, parallel with the camera lens' view direction.

  • Patent number: 4205907
Abstract: A calculator device for an electronic photoflash system in which a photosensor receives light reflected back from the scene being photographed and generates an electrical signal for providing termination of the flash upon sensing a predetermined amount of light. The light received from the scene is reflected from either of two surfaces having different light reflectivities, prior to receipt by the photosensor. The pair of surfaces are carried by a slidable member and selectively positionable at the point of light reflection in accordance with the selection of indicia carried on the front side of the member, by movement of the same by the photographer.

  • Patent number: 4085316
Abstract: An attachment for photographic flash equipment comprises a dome shaped member which is primarily constructed of light diffusing material but having a portion thereof which is considerably less light diffusing and which operates to direct some of the light emitted by the flash equipment away from a subject to be photographed so that it may be reflected from a nearby surface and thus indirectly illuminate the subject.

  • Patent number: 4083057
Abstract: A zoom lens system is shown for use in conjunction with the normal optical elements of an automatic focusing camera to correct the change in magnification which occurs when a lens system focused on a far subject is refocused on a nearer subject or vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4067024
Abstract: An improved calculator structure primarily for use with photographic apparatus is disclosed. A base member carries therein certain electronics including a light sensing device which receives light from an electronic flash associated with a camera and reflected from the subject to be photographed through an aperture in the base and through one of a plurality of apertures carried by a top member which is rotatable with respect to the base about a first axis. Carried by the base member are a first set of indicia indicative of the maximum distance from camera to subject available from the electronic flash being used. The first set of indicia are viewable through a window carried by the top member. A middle member is carried by the top member and is rotatable about a second axis displaced from the first axis. The middle member carries a second set of indicia indicative of various ASA film speeds and these are also viewable through the window in the top member.
