  • Patent number: 9297365
Abstract: An offshore wind turbine assembly is disclosed. The offshore wind turbine assembly includes cable meshes or networks arranged on at least two respective levels along the longitudinal direction of the towers of floatable wind turbines in the offshore wind turbine assembly. The cable mesh at each level interconnects the wind turbines in the assembly so as to substantially maintain the position of each wind turbine relatively to the assembly when the entire assembly is located at an offshore position. By means of the arrangement of cable meshes, an upright orientation of the tower of each wind turbine in the assembly can be achieved by appropriately setting the interlevel spacing of the cable meshes.

  • Patent number: 6799096
Abstract: A method for power optimization in a vehicle/train, using time reserves which are included when planning a schedule, is proposed. In order to achieve a power-saving travel mode with the aid of an optimization algorithm, the presence of a number of completely or partially autonomous drive systems is taken into account, the separate functions of efficiency or power loss of each drive system being taken into consideration.

  • Patent number: 6668217
Abstract: A method for power optimization in a vehicle/train is proposed, using time reserves which are included when planning a schedule, an overall route to be traveled between a starting stop and a destination stop being subdivided into a number of steps. In order to achieve a power-saving travel mode, with the aid of an optimization algorithm, the kinetic energy of the vehicle and the time are used as state variables in a vehicle model. The changes in the state variables are considered with respect to the distance in each step.

  • Patent number: 6665609
Abstract: A method is proposed for power optimization in a vehicle/train, using time reserves which are included when a schedule is planned, an overall route to be covered between a starting stop and a destination stop being subdivided into a number of sections and each section being assigned a specific time reserve. In order to achieve a power-saving travel mode with the aid of an optimization algorithm, in each case only a limited route area, comprising a predefined number of sections, is taken into consideration for the optimization. The results of the optimization are implemented only for the first section of the route area. The optimization calculation is repeated cyclically during the journey of the vehicle/train, the route area being considered being moved together with the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6321170
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for forming output signals of an interference current monitor or of a state monitor of an electrical rail vehicle with current being drawn from a power grid, and optionally a current also being delivered back into said power grid, via a current collector. In the case of a state monitor, not only interference currents but also further fault states are identified and signaled. The method steps include detection by measurement and digitization of the vehicle current flowing via the current collector or of other measurement quantities which make it possible to infer vehicle states which leads to interference currents, and digital processing of these measured values with determination of the spectral density of interference currents or of interference values of the other measurement quantities, a multistage system of response thresholds being used in order to evaluate the spectral density.

  • Patent number: 6240528
Abstract: Specimen programs (S1) of a specimen object (1) can be tested by means of an observation tool (2), and the duration of program routines registered and evaluated. In order to achieve a better testing depth, the observation tool (2) is additionally supplied with at least one measurement and/or process signal from at least one simulated process (P′) from a real time simulator (4) or from a process (P) of a plant (3). At least one signal is transmitted from the simulated process (P′) to the observation tool (2), it being possible for this signal to be generated by the process (P) or (P′), and said signal triggering a test by the observation tool (2).

  • Patent number: 6154709
Abstract: In low-power AC networks, it is desirable when a load is connected, for example an arc furnace or a vehicle, to know the load capacity of the AC network in order to avoid undesirable drops in the network voltage U.sub.N. To this end, load voltage signals which are proportional to the amplitude of a load voltage U.sub.L are detected at the point of the load L at a 1st measurement time which can be predetermined and at a 2nd measurement time which can be predetermined and is later. At the same time, load current signals are detected which are proportional to the amplitude of a load current I.sub.L. Furthermore, a phase difference .DELTA..phi. is determined, which is obtained with reference to the phase angle of the network voltage U.sub.N at the 1st measurement time. These measurements are used as the bases to calculate a magnitude of the network impedance of the AC network and the network phase angle .phi..sub.N between the network voltage U.sub.N and the network current. A maximum possible power P.sub.
