Patent number: 11918407Abstract: Described is a method of providing an estimate of radiation dose received by a patient during an imaging scan performed by an imaging system. The method includes receiving patient information about the patient, receiving scan data generated during the imaging scan of the patient by the imaging system, creating a virtual dose model of the patient based upon the patient information and the scan data, receiving a selection of a region of interest of the patient, performing a dose simulation on the virtual dose model of the patient or a portion thereof, and determining, based upon an outcome of the dose simulation, an estimate of the radiation dose received within the region of interest. The imaging scan can be a partial imaging scan of a portion of the patient. Also provided is a system and software for carrying out this method.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2019Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: BAYER HEALTHCARE LLCInventors: David Griffiths, Arthur Uber, Jacob Agris, Ting Lu, Peter Thompson

Patent number: 11614039Abstract: A control circuit for a dual fuel generator includes a primary fuel valve to control the supply of a primary fuel, a secondary fuel valve to control the supply of a secondary fuel, a primary fuel pressure switch to detect the primary fuel, a secondary fuel pressure switch to detect the secondary fuel, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a primary signal for availability of the primary fuel from the primary fuel pressure switch and a secondary signal for availability of the secondary fuel from the secondary and operate the primary fuel valve and the secondary fuel valve in response to the primary signal and the secondary signal. When the secondary fuel valve is open so that the secondary fuel is provided to the dual fuel generator, the control circuit is configured to ground the primary signal by connecting the primary fuel pressure switch to ground.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2021Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: Kohler Co.Inventors: Harrison Chiu, Peter Thompson, Seth Gudmundson, Zachary Meulemans

Patent number: 10036891Abstract: A heads up display presents images to a user. A background is located behind the heads up display. The heads up display is operable to vary the transparency of the images such that images alone are viewable, the background is viewable through the images, or the background is viewable but the images are not. The heads up display may vary the transparency of the images by varying the transparency of a display screen. Alternatively, the heads up display may record the background using a visual recording element and may combine the recorded background with the images such to overlay the images over the recorded background. The, the display screen may display the images. Alternatively, the display screen may be a projection screen upon which an image projector projects the images. The heads up display may also include an illumination element that illuminates the background when not sufficiently illuminated.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2010Date of Patent: July 31, 2018Assignee: DISH Technologies L.L.C.Inventors: Peter Thompson, Antony Michael Dove

Patent number: 9398461Abstract: A communication method, for use with a telecommunications system, enables special communications to be routed to respective devices in a group of the devices by addressing the devices with a respective special identifier. The telecommunications system includes a network core and a plurality of subscriber devices registered with the network core. The core enables communications to be routed to the devices by a respective ID allocated to each device. The method further includes maintaining a store of the special identifier of each device in the group and a corresponding value derived from the ID. The method enables the special identifier of a device in the group to be obtained from the store by providing the store with the corresponding value derived from that device's ID.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2007Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: Vodafone Group PLCInventor: Peter Thompson

Patent number: 9027932Abstract: A sealing system for a pump having a plunger includes a housing having an internal chamber adapted to receive a portion of the plunger. Primary and secondary seals are located within the internal chamber and adapted to sealingly engage the plunger. The primary seal communicates with the fluid being pumped. A barrier fluid chamber contains a barrier fluid in contact with the primary seal and the secondary seal. A pressure referencing device has an inlet port in communication with the pumped fluid and an outlet port providing fluid at a pressure magnitude equal to a peak pressure of the pumped fluid. A pressurizing device is in communication with the fluid at the peak pressure and the barrier fluid to maintain the barrier fluid pressure at a magnitude greater than the peak pressure of the pumped fluid such that the pumped fluid is restricted from leaking past the primary seal.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2010Date of Patent: May 12, 2015Assignee: Clyde Union Inc.Inventors: Herbert H.
