  • Publication number: 20050027656
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring facility data is disclosed. This includes at least one processor capable of receiving inputted data and generating alerts or alarms when scheduled activity does not occur, monitoring whether devices used in the facility are calibrated, determining what corrective actions are appropriate if defects occur, provide control over who and how users edit data, provide a pre-shipment review of products leaving a facility, determining disposition of at least one product, developing root causes for defects and scheduling tasks. There is an ability for a wide variety of individuals having access to exactly the same program with material added or blocked-out in terms of zones and data monitoring can be defined in terms of department, lines and processes with complete flexibility in configuration. There are both data collectors and data verifiers with the establishment of schedules and alarms tailored to each role.

  • Patent number: 6302007
Abstract: For trimming the exposed lateral edges of printed bound documents (4 to 6) conveyed individually or in quires, such as books, brochures or magazines, which are held at the bound lateral edge (23) and conveyed to a trimming device (2) through a rotational and translational conveying movement, the trimming operation of the top and/or bottom edge is simultaneously performed on two printed documents (4 to 6) in a single operation.

  • Patent number: 5056866
Abstract: To provide for a compact seat adjustment mechanism, an elongated seat support (21) is secured to a floor support structure including a central post (13), to extend at an upwardly directed angle of inclination. The seat (17), attached to a seat support (29), is pivotally located to pivot about an axis (37) close to the front edge of the seat. The seat is maintained in position by a torsion spring assembly (23), the spring tension of which is adjustable by a laterally positionable adjustment knob (63), and a blocking element in form of a gas spring or hydraulic spring (27) couples the seat to the seat support, the respective blocking element being attached with a first end between the pivot axis support and the floor support and with its other end to the seat (17) such that it will extend in the genral direction of the elongated seat support (21) and form an acute angle with respect to the seat support, which angle will be somewhat greater than the angle of inclination of the seat support (210 itself.

  • Patent number: 4900085
Abstract: To permit use of injection-molded plastic parts in chairs which, otherwise, have a wide variety of coverings or shapes of the seats and/or the chair backs, the seats and chair backs are upholstered with material such as fabric or leather or imitation leather in accordance with selected colors, and made in shapes determined by designers; the back of the chair, and where the coverings are attached to a chair core (45), typically of plywood or the like, is then covered by injection-molded plastic shells or panels (51, 54) which can be snap-in attached by an interengaging attachment means to support brace (27) for the chair back, which support brace may form part of a synchronous seat-back tilting mechanism (15). The seat adjustment tilting mechanism (15) can be identical for any numbers of seats or chair backs, of respectively different shapes (FIGS. 3, 4, 5, 6), thereby permitting inexpensive modular construction and reducing stocking requirements for spare parts.

  • Patent number: 4884846
Abstract: To improve seating comfort of chair users of different anatomical build, the arm rests are height-adjustable with respect to the seat by coupling the arm rests with length-adjustable support rods (21) located adjacent the seat back. To match the chair to various shoulder configurations, the arm rests can be moved inwardly and outwardly with respect to a center line of the chair as well.

  • Patent number: 4763950
Abstract: To permit backward rocking of the back or back-and-seat of a chair, independently of the previously tilted-back position of the chair, a comfort position memory structure is provided which includes a manually adjustable variable stop structure formed by a cam curve (37) with a serrated or toothed surface, engaged by a stop element (41) coupled to the seat (17, 19). The cam (37) is manually rotatable, by being secured to an externally user-accessible adjustment segment (45). To set a predetermined tilted position, the user tilts back on the chair, and then permits the chair to tilt forward to a comfortable position, and then rotates the manually engageable segment (45) until a tooth (39) of the cam disk (37) is engaged by the stop (41). A spring (32) biasses the chair forwardly and against the stop, unless tilted back by the user.
