  • Patent number: 10589332
Abstract: An auger useable for creating an opening in the ground for a soil sensor housing wherein the sensor housing has a predetermined volume and a tapered outer surface, includes an auger made in accordance with the methods described and defined in this specification. The auger having a shaft having an outer surface of circular cross-section having an larger outer diameter at one end than the other end and a strip material having a helical shape with an inner wall having a larger inner diameter at one end than the other end of the helical shape wherein the helically shaped material is fixed over the outer diameter of the shaft to form a tapered auger with helical flighting. The volume of the opening created by an auger in the ground will provide a matching volume for a sensor housing of a predetermined volume such that substantially the full length of the tapered outer surface of the sensor is adjacent the ground along the full length/depth of the created opening.

  • Publication number: 20160150387
Abstract: In embodiments of TextMuse message generator, a computing device, such as a mobile phone or similar portable communication device, can maintain user contacts in memory and execute software instructions as a TextMuse application that interfaces with a messaging client application executing on the computing device. The TextMuse application can optionally receive a selection of one or more user contacts, receive an additional selection of preconfigured messaging content, and generate a content-ready text message that includes the preconfigured messaging content. The TextMuse application can then initiate communication of the content-ready text message, by the messaging client application, to client devices that are associated with the one or more user contacts.

  • Publication number: 20060148279
Abstract: A telecommunications patching system includes a patch panel having a plurality of connector ports, and having an RFID reader and RF antennas associated with the connector ports. A plurality of patch cords are configured to selectively interconnect pairs of the connector ports. Each patch cord has opposite ends and a respective connector secured to each end that is configured to be removably secured within a connector port. Each connector of a respective patch cord includes an RFID tag. The RFID tags for a respective patch cord have the same unique identifier stored therewithin. The RF antenna associated with a connector port emits RF signals that cause a patch cord connector RFID tag to transmit its identifier. Each RF antenna detects the transmitted identifier of a patch cord connector RFID tag when the respective patch cord connector is inserted within, and removed from, a respective one of the connector ports.

  • Publication number: 20040161846
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a method for the in vitro or in vivo production, by a eukaryotic host cell, of a protein from a negative sense single stranded RNA virus and, more particularly, to a method for the in vitro or in vivo production by a eukaryotic host cell of a protein from a virus of the family Paramyxoviradae and agents identified thereby. Still more particularly, said protein is the F, N, P or SH protein, the encoding nucleic acid molecule of which has been optimised for expression in a eukaryotic host cell. In yet another aspect, the present invention relates to a method for modulating the functional activity of an F protein. More particularly, said modulation is predicated on modulation of the functioning of a novel intrasequence cleavage event.

  • Patent number: 5974416
Abstract: A method and tabular data stream format is provided for the transmission of tabular data between a client process running on a client computer and a server process running on a server computer via a network such as the Internet. The tabular data stream format, called the Advanced Data TableGram (ADTG) format, is ideally suited for marshaling tabular data in both directions between a Web browser and a Web server. A Web browser query is processed by the Web server retrieving tabular data from a database and converting the data into a Rowset. The Rowset, in turn, is formatted into an ADTG message. The ADTG message includes a Header section, a HandlerOptions section, a Row section, and an End section. The Header section includes data representing global parameters for a tabular data stream. The Handler Options section contains data representing parameters for controlling the processing of the tabular data stream by a process receiving the tabular data stream.
