  • Publication number: 20260133836
Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method of thumbnail personalization is provided. The method includes initializing a thumbnail-personalization engine that includes a multi-armed bandit (MAB) model. The method includes allocating first user traffic to the plurality of thumbnails. The method includes calculating a first thumbnail-conversion rate of each thumbnail of the plurality of thumbnails based on performance data associated with the first user traffic. The method includes allocating second user traffic to the plurality of thumbnails based on the first thumbnail-conversion rate. The method includes calculating a second thumbnail-conversion rate of the plurality of thumbnails based on performance data associated with the second user traffic. The method includes determining an updated set of parameters for each arm of the MAB model based on a data decay function or a sliding-window period applied to the first thumbnail-conversion rate and the second thumbnail-conversion rate.

  • Patent number: 12256682
Abstract: One variation of a method for automating transfer of plants within an agricultural facility includes: dispatching a loader to autonomously deliver a first module—defining a first array of plant slots at a first density and loaded with a first set of plants at a first growth stage—from a first grow location within an agricultural facility to a transfer station within the agricultural facility; dispatching the loader to autonomously deliver a second module—defining a second array of plant slots at a second density less than the first density and empty of plants—to the transfer station; recording a module-level optical scan of the first module; extracting a viability parameter of the first set of plants from features detected in the module-level optical scan; and if the viability parameter falls outside of a target viability range, rejecting transfer of the first set of plants from the first module.

  • Patent number: 12128293
Abstract: A ski, snowboard, or other gliding board for snow sports includes a horizontally-laminated core of at least first and second wooden layers overlying a low-friction base, and a layer of high-modulus non-wooden material, such as carbon fiber composite, overlying the core. The second wooden layer overlies at least a portion of the first wooden layer and preferably has a flexural modulus that is greater than a flexural modulus of the first layer. The wooden materials and dimensions of the first and second layers are selected to provide improved vibration damping. Manufacturing methods resulting in reduced waste and improved vibration damping performance are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11497995
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a shared augmented reality environment are provided. In particular, the latency of communication is reduced by using a peer-to-peer protocol to determine where to send datagrams. Datagrams describe actions that occur within the shared augmented reality environment, and the processing of datagrams is split between an intermediary node of a communications network (e.g., a cell tower) and a server. As a result, the intermediary node may provide updates to a local state of a client device when a datagram is labelled peer-to-peer, and otherwise provides updates to the master state on the server. This may reduce the latency of communication and allow users of the location-based parallel reality game to see actions occur more quickly in the shared augmented reality environment.

  • Publication number: 20120181777
Abstract: According to the invention, a ski is provided. The ski may be a longitudinal member having lengthwise edges, a convex base, and a first and second pair of undulations. Each lengthwise edge may have a sidecut portion, where the longitudinal member is thinner near a middle portion of the sidecut portion than at an end of the sidecut portion. The convex base, in an un-deformed state, may have lengthwise edges which are elevated compared to a bottom-most portion of the convex base. The first pair of undulations may be located at a first end of the sidecut portion, one undulation of the first pair per lengthwise edge. The second pair of undulations may be located at a second end of the sidecut portion, one undulation of the second pair per lengthwise edge. The undulations may be a downward depression of the base compared to proximate portions of the convex base.
