  • Patent number: 8246839
Abstract: The object of the invention is a double-walled chamber for the UV disinfection of liquids, preferably drinking water and/or waste water. It realizes a rectangular and/or square cross-sectional shape of the UV radiation chamber even at higher pressures, whereby the radiation chamber can moreover be provided with a thin-walled configuration and allows an optimal and close arrangement of UV radiators as compared with a round chamber. By applying the inventive idea, the known dead zones at the entrance are completely eliminated and an entrance turbulence is produced which runs simultaneously with the piston flow in the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6976508
Abstract: A fluid treatment system is provided including a closed fluid treatment zone, at least one radiation source disposed in the fluid treatment zone to irradiate a flow of fluid, and a plurality of diffusers disposed upstream of the at least one radiation source. The plurality of diffusers define a decreasing gradient of fluid treatment zone cross-section from an upstream portion of the plurality of diffusers to a downstream portion of the plurality of diffusers. Also provided is a flat diffuser for changing flow cross section in a flow conduit.

  • Publication number: 20050001174
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for detecting of an UV radiation as well as a housing which is part of the device and which receives a light sensor. The sensor housing comprises the following features: a wall which encloses the sensor; the wall comprises a region of incidence facing one or several UV radiation sources (1) as well as a region opposite to the UV radiation sources (1); at least the region of incidence consists of a material transparent to UV rays; the whole sensor housing (4) respectively the sensor housing (4) without the region opposite to the UV radiation source (1) is made of one single piece and free of openings.

  • Publication number: 20040216254
Abstract: A sectoral ring brush with inside trimming for keeping clear and/or cleaning cylindrical bodies, preferably quartz cladding tubes in UV disinfection units, especially in UV disinfection sluices for the disinfection of waste water, characterized in that the sectoral ring brush consists of sectoral elements whose trimming can be integrated prior to the installation in a housing, with the sectoral element being fastened individually or in a connected fashion, e.g. by connecting bridges on the circumference, in a ring-shaped housing.

  • Publication number: 20040011414
Abstract: The subject matter of the invention is a flat diffuser for changing the flow cross section in a flow conduit, preferably for the inlet and outlet zone of UV disinfection devices for drinking water, water for industrial use or sewage water with a square or rectangular flow cross section. High-performance UV disinfection devices inevitably lead to the arrangement of UV radiators in square or rectangular UV radiator grids transversally or longitudinally to the flow direction. In closed UV disinfection devices of high flow rates the inlets and outlets have round cross sections like the arriving piping. It is necessary to achieve there a transition from the arriving round inlet cross section to the completely differently shaped rectangular inlet cross section of the radiation chamber.
