  • Patent number: 10478577
Abstract: The invention at hand relates to a tracheal applicator for enabling administering high flow therapy to tracheotomy patients, as is known from transnasal insufflation by means of TNI devices and has proven successful. This is attained by an optimized physical simulation of the conditions as available when performing transnasal high flow therapy at the nostril with an inserted prong. The flow of inspiration and expiration flowing through the tracheal applicator is conducted nearly free of turbulences and vortexes owing to further constructive measures while simultaneously preserving an open ventilation system.
