  • Patent number: 4563668
Abstract: A marker light including a light assembly having a unitary blow molded plastic canister in which a power source and circuitry are retained. The canister includes generally cylindrical upper and lower portions, with the lower portion being of small diameter, smaller and offset with respect to the upper portion. The lower portion includes a plurality of inwardly directed flat-bottom indentations to define a generally rectangular channel for guiding and holding the battery. The indentations further provide generally annular array of outwardly extending grooves into which a circuit board assembly can be securely mounted. The circuit board assembly includes two boards in fixed spaced relationship with the electrical components being disposed intermediate the two boards. The switch of the assembly is recessed in the upper portion of the canister for adequate protection.

  • Patent number: 4429982
Abstract: A stabilization processor is provided having activator, stop, stabilizer and rinse baths sequentially arranged therein. A plurality of pairs of upper and lower rollers are provided with at least one pair being disposed in each bath. The upper rollers in each pair of rollers is driven by a worm gear, while the lower roller is driven by frictional coaction with the upper rollers and the stabilization paper. The movement of the rollers urges the stabilization paper through the stabilization processor. The rotation of the lower roller transports the chemical solution in each bath into contact with the stabilization paper. The stop bath assures no contamination of the stabilizer bath by the activator solution. A pumping and recirculation system is provided for each bath. The recirculation system enables complete draining of the stabilization processor during periods of non-use.

  • Patent number: 4273043
Abstract: An apparatus for printing labels is disclosed, and more particularly a portable apparatus which will reproduce indicia of a master sheet on a continuous web substrate and thereafter cut the web into individual labels. The apparatus is provided with a rotatable plate roller, to which the master sheet is attached. A fountain solution module is provided which applies a fountain solution to the surface of the master sheet, and an ink module is provided which supplies ink to the master sheet in the areas which the fountain solution has not adhered. A blanket roller is provided having a diameter equal to the plate roller and is in contact therewith. The plate and blanket rollers are driven at equal speed such that the ink on the plate roller will be accurately transferred to the blanket roller. In addition, a freewheeling impression roller is provided which is mounted for reciprocating movement into and out of contact with the blanket roller.

  • Patent number: 4213420
Abstract: An apparatus for processing a particulating printing plate includes an outer casing having an entrance end and an exit end, and a pair of opposed side portions. The exit end of the apparatus is disposed at an upward tilt relative to the entrance end. In addition, one side portion is disposed at an upward tilt relative to the other side portion. A pair of entry rollers is disposed one above the other adjacent the entrance end of the outer casing for receiving the plate and conveying it in a horizontal direction. A first sprayer for spraying developer solution onto one surface of the plate is disposed adjacent the downstream ends of the entry rollers. First and second brushes are disposed one above the other and adjacent to the first sprayer for brushing away unwanted coatings on the plate after it has been sprayed. The upper brush is an individually rotatable roller which is adapted to be rotated in a direction opposite to that of the conveyance of the plate.

  • Patent number: 4179208
Abstract: A compact, simple, fully automatic table-top plate processor for developing offset plates which are inserted horizontally in the front and ejected horizontally from the rear using paired transport rollers and brush rollers training the plate at the exit and thus provides a finished press-ready or storable plate in one cycle. Top rollers fit into essentially vertical slots and have keyed bearings to prevent rotation. The roller drive motor is of such a speed as to provide the proper dwell time prior to the plate being brushed on both sides. The processor provides automatic developing of the plate in an essentially horizontal feed-through operation permitting use on the top of an existing table surface and requiring a minimum of space. By combining the gum into the developer solution the need for several stages (develop, rinse, condition, gum, etc.) is eliminated and this one step machine provides a unique compactness of design.

  • Patent number: 4148576
Abstract: An apparatus for continuously processing, in a horizontal through-put manner, a thin substrate having an image carrying coating on one surface thereof includes tank member for containing the processing solution, the tank having an entry end and an exit end. A pair of rotatable entry rollers is disposed adjacent the entry end of the tank, the entry rollers being disposed one above the other in nip contact for receiving the substrate and conveying it downstream in the apparatus. Guidance members disposed adjacent the entry rollers are included to receive the substrate from the entry rollers and direct it into the processing solution. A pair of rotatable holding rollers is disposed adjacent the entry rollers in the solution, the holding rollers being disposed one above the other in nip contact for receiving the substrate and conveying it in a horizontal direction within the processing solution. A scrubbing device for scrubbing the coated side of the substrate is disposed adjacent the nip of the holding rollers.
