Patent number: 9757670Abstract: To move a filter along a manifold assembly the filter may be seated on a moveable shuttle assembly. Seating the filter on the shuttle assembly may include mating a key portion on the filter with a key portion on the shuttle assembly, each key portion corresponding to a filtration characteristic of the filter. The shuttle assembly and the seated filter may then be moved between a first position, wherein the key portions of the filter and the shuttle assembly are mated to one another and first and second fittings of the filter are spaced from first and second fittings of the manifold assembly, and a second position, wherein the key portions of the filter and the shuttle assembly are mated to one another and the first and second fittings of the filter sealingly engage the first and second fittings of the manifold assembly.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2013Date of Patent: September 12, 2017Assignee: Pall CorporationInventors: Vincent Lam, Jacob Peter Vanderheyden, Mark William Foohey

Patent number: 9713782Abstract: A filter has first and second fittings, a permeable filter medium, and a housing. The housing defines a fluid flow path within the housing between the first and second fittings, and the permeable filter medium is arranged in the fluid flow path to remove one or more substances from a fluid flowing along the fluid flow path. A reservoir is positioned in an upper region of the housing and includes a wall surrounding the first and second fittings of the filter. Each of the fittings has a topmost portion and the wall of the reservoir has a topmost portion, the topmost portion of each filter fitting being at or below the topmost portion of the reservoir wall. A filter arrangement may include a filter and a manifold assembly having first and second fittings which may be sealingly coupled to or uncoupled from the first and second fittings of the filter.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2013Date of Patent: July 25, 2017Assignee: Pall CorporationInventors: Vincent Lam, Jacob Peter Vanderheyden, Mark William Foohey, Tatsuya Hoshino

Publication number: 20130311500Abstract: The present disclosure presents embodiments including methods and apparatuses for technology timeline management and research community organization. For example, the present disclosure presents a method of database management, which includes receiving an input data from an entity, wherein the input data has an associated date range and technology type, populating a technology timeline with the input data based on the date range and technology type, and presenting the technology timeline to one or more members of the research community. The disclosure further presents a method of organizing members of a research community, which includes creating a hierarchy of community tiers, wherein the hierarchy of community tiers includes a first tier and one or more higher tiers, placing all new members of the research community into the first tier, and relocating a member of the research community from the first tier to the one or more higher tiers based on research performance.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2013Publication date: November 21, 2013Applicant: Article One Partners HoldingsInventors: Cheryl Anne Milone, Peter Vanderheyden, Raymond Felts

Publication number: 20060169777Abstract: The invention broadly comprises a computer-based method and system for verifying an electronic voting process, comprising the steps of generating an original digital fingerprint of an electronic record at a first time and transmitting the original digital fingerprint. The method generates a validation digital fingerprint of the electronic record at a second time later than the first time and compares the original and validation digital fingerprints. The method generates and compares digital fingerprints of voting software during certification and testing, during installation in a voting machine, while the machine is in government possession, and during active use in a voting period.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2005Publication date: August 3, 2006Applicant: IP.com, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Colson, Peter Vanderheyden, Mark O'Donnell

Publication number: 20050283623Abstract: The invention broadly comprises a computer-based method for certifying files using a specially programmed computer. The method sets parameters for identifying files to process and parameters for a processing schedule. An identified file is digitally fingerprinted. In some aspects, a copy of the file is archived. In some aspects, the archived file is renamed and/or converted to a read-only file. The method creates a Bulk Certification Record (BCR), adds the fingerprint to the BCR, and generates processing reports. The method transmits the BCR to a base computer, which compiles BCR information into a Daily Certification Record (DCR). A digital fingerprint is made of the DCR, and the DCR and the DCR fingerprint are given a respective sequential number. The method publishes the DCR, DCR fingerprint, and the respective sequential numbers both electronically and in print media. The present invention also includes an apparatus to certify a file.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2004Publication date: December 22, 2005Inventors: Peter Vanderheyden, Timothy Northrup, Thomas Colson
